The Mariano Hotel, originally built in 1880 to accommodate the officers of the new born Italian Kingdom and later converted into a hotel, is situated on the Esquilino, one of the seven famous hills of ancient Rome.
The Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore (432 - 440 A.C.), the Opera Theater (1880), the Coliseum (72 A.C.), the therms of Diocletian (303 A.C.) and the Roman National Museum are some of the interesting places to visit close to the hotel.
The central railway station, Termini, is within 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. From Termini is possible to reach any point of the city, thanks to the A and B underground lines and several bus lines.
