EVERYTHING. The location, though not in the heart of Rome, is a walk away from metro and bus transportation which then takes you 10 minutes to get into Rome--and besides, you don't want to necessarily be in the heart of Rome because things are more expensive and less worth it. This provides the PERFECT Roman ambiance and is the hostelers dream. The staff is the most hopeful--more than I could have ever dreamed of. My friend and I came to Lodi after ditching a hostel in the heart of Rome (which by the way, was disturbingly disgusting with previous guests' hair and dirt on the sheets I was sleeping on) and the manager or the owner (I couldn't figure out which) sat us down with a map and explained everything there is to do in Rome and every way of public transportation to get there most efficiently. He also ended the conversation with, "Oh yeah, breakfast and towels are actually free, you get a bathroom in your bedroom (except for a toilet), and there's a barbeque tomorrow night for all the guests so come down and have free dinner and meet some other people." We thought it was too good to be true--but it wasn't! It's the perfect little bed and breakfast on a budget and you get everything you wish for and more--I'm definitely going back to Rome in the near future, and you know what? I'm definitely going to be staying at Hotel Lodi.

GREAT Staff! Very Helpful with sight seeing information and the city. Very Quiet neighborhood is great for sleeping at night, especially because it's not right by the train station, however you need to take a bus to get there. it's really easy to do though and you'll want a bus pass anyway for sightseeing. There's also a very nice courtyard where you can hang out and a kitchen so you can cook. Free interenet which was a nice treat. Only negative I have is that if you're in the room directly outside the kitcehn you'll hear if people are up late in there hanging out. But it's not really a party hostel so people are just talking and eventually go to bed at say 1am at the latest for optimal sight seeing the next day.

To say that the staff were fantastic would be an understatement, they are very informative and will do anything to ensure that your stay is a good one.
The garden is perfect with plenty of shade and is the best place to meet other guests. There is plenty of space to chill out with a book or chat with new friends.
A free internet computer and free Wi-Fi were most usefully for completeing travel plans.
Hotel Lodi for the win!

The staff are fantastic, and the quality of the other people I met here was excellent. A great place to meet other travellers, especially if travelling solo. The garden is a haven. Slightly short on bathrooms, but so is every other hostel in Italy. Just get up early or shower in the evening.

I just spent 3 nights at Hotel Lodi and absolutely loved it! there is a large stocked kitchen where a few us got together and cooked large meals and then spent our evenings hanging out in the beautiful green garden. it was the perfect place to relax sightseeing, about a 10 min walk to the metro
