Liked: The hostel was great. It was clean and warm. There was a TV, a large private bathroom and even a balcony in our room. No loud neighbors. No commonplace to meet with other backpackers.

Disliked: The address they give is wrong. They have moved from the former address so the whole "we are right under the tower" advertisement is false. Since Pisa is a very small town, it is not a big issue though. You just have to walk 5-10 minutes on the same street to get to the hostel.

Liked: Its only 1 minute walk to the tower and you can easily find your way to the main strip. I only stayed 1 night but was exactly what i needed

Liked: Location

Disliked: The guy/owner that handled our booking is not reliable. He bumped us to an uglier property down the road, and gave us a room with no toilet(booked ensuite 1 bdrm). When I realized this mistake, getting a hold of him was impossible, and he was not even apologetic. He gave us the $ difference but kept pointing out that the rate we got was a really low rate (rate from here), Would not recommend this to any traveler at all!!! Ive stayed in unpleasant hostels but was fully prepared for it, so never written a review before but this one was falsely advertised, and should be told. He should post pics of both properties ( and not just the prettier one), so travelers are not fooled PS. The common toilet/bathroom didnt even have cover/door on the shower area, so taking a shower was impossible

Liked: Clean, close to the leaning tower

Disliked: I did not stay in the same address as described in the website. At least they put me in an accommodation just 300m far from the original address.

Liked: The location was key. We were about 100 yards from the tower and there were lots of restaurants and shops around. We could pop back to the room if we needed to during the day because it was only steps away.

Disliked: The machine in the bathroom made some odd noises while it was being used. It was part of their waste disposal system, but it made squeaking noises. Also I asked for toilet paper one afternoon because there was none to be found and the boy disappeared and never came back with any. By the end of the evening it had been resupplied.

Liked: 30 seconds from Pisa tower. Many markets and food places are 10 seconds from hostels. There is a new desktop PC for anyone to use from dinning place.

Disliked: Pressed the buzz so many times, but no answer. I had to wait at least 20 minutes until the property manager to show up and open the door. There was no instruction to call the owner, but I guess I had to phone their number right below the buzz.

Liked: So close to the tower, you could putt a golf ball into the base!

Disliked: Far from the station, but you can't have it both ways, as location was great for the main attraction!

Liked: - Building is pretty well maintained- Tastefully furnished and decorated- Close to the Pisa Tower

Disliked: - No toilet paper in the bathroom - No curtains on the windows - No kitchen facilities in the Via S.Maria building - Fan did not work - Thin walls and noisy - Ensuite bathroom not connected in room and was used by other guests when they weren't supposed to - Reception not always open and no straight forward way to check in without calling first

Liked: While the staff was helpful and nice, I was disappointed with the hostel. When I arrived, I asked for the combination for the lock of the safe, but the receptionist did not know the number...nor did he bother getting it for me. I ended up having no problem, but I would have liked to lock up my valuables just in case. The first night was fine, but I left early the next morning and they forgot that I was staying a second night. Luckily, I came back before going out for dinner and found that they had not only given my bed away, but they had changed my room to an all girls room. When I asked them what I should do, the owner took me to one of his other hostels...which was away from the center. While I am an easy going person, I was quite offended that he actually asked me to pay for another night!! I explained I had paid and wasn't going to pay for another night, he accepted that, but the lack of communication was terrible. He actually said that the receptionist at the other hostel "didn't know anything." While it all ended up being ok, I would probably try to find another hostel to stay injust to avoid the hassle in case it were to happen again.

Liked: Paid 81 Euros for a 1 night stay in double room. Was very much under the impression that we would be staying 'Under the Tower' so was really dissapointed to learn that after lugging our bags up 3 flights of stairs that we were in fact in another building about 1/2 mile away from the main hostel. The room was on the ground floor and had a view of all the dirty linen in a shed directly outside the back door. As this part of the hostel is unmanned we were also subjected to 3 idiots staying in a room close to ours who kept us awake running around the place until 3:30am. All in all the room was clean but we don't feel it was worth the price and really gave us a bad impression of Pisa :-( We won't go back.

Liked: The property is easily found and accessicible as well as conveniently located near the Pisa Tower, about 1-3 minutes walk. The rate is very affordable and the environment is clean. For the very low price paid it is well worth it!
