Liked: central location, very friendly staff who is prepared to help with anything you ask, quite extensive breakfast for Italian standards

Disliked: the central location also means a lot of traffic which makes it a little bit noisy

Liked: I liked people who worked there (it's a family hostel), clean towels and shits and breakfast.

Liked: Out of the 6 accommodations we stayed at in Italy and Sicily, including a week in a 4* hotel. This was by far the best place we stayed. The rooms are enormous and extremely clean, with a balcony aswell. The location is in the main part of the city, very easy to get to and everything is in walking distance. The best part of the stay though was the family who owned it. Nothing was too much trouble whether it was the best places to eat good food at reasonable prices to giving you advice on where to go and how to get there, with a map thrown in to help you. If returning to Palermo I wouldn't bother to look for a hotel but would book into Ruggiero guest house again.

Disliked: There was nothing to dislike.

Disliked: The brothers were very nice but didn't speak a lot of English. A for effort though!!

Liked: Very friendly staff and clean room

Disliked: The door of the hostel was locked on the inside so I could not leave at 6am when I needed to - it is also a fire hazard not being able to get out if you need to when nobody is on the desk
