Liked: Super fun crew of people working there who let us make our own cocktails behind the bar and get everyone there pretty hammered! The room was so lovely, colourful, clean and private with a tv and dvd player which was exactly what we needed for a quiet sunday night.

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: I wish I could give Hostel of the Sun even higher ratings! It was such a wonderful place - the staff was incredible, helping me work out a reservation mix-up (my fault!) that I had... Book several nights here - you're going to want to stay here forever!!!

Liked: This is by far the best hostel I have stayed in so far. The staff are super friendly and will do anything to help you. The lady who owns it is like superwoman! She remembers everyones name and is bubbly and a joy to talk to all the time. The rooms are air conditioned and the bathrooms are spacious. Great location near bus stops, trams stops and the boat terminal. Fantastic.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing.

Liked: The staff were very helpful and friendly, and it was a great place to meet other travelers. They also have real showers, not those push button things.

Disliked: Because it's such a social place, it's really hard to get a good night's sleep. My roommates were coming in and yelling and slamming the door until 4:30 am. That was miserable when I had to get up to catch the ferry at 5. And you can hear the doorbell going off at all hours of the night. And the location is near everything you'll probably want to see, but Naples itself is sketchy and it's scary going out by yourself.

Liked: It's very clean, with extraordinary staff, who make you feel just like at home. And it's easy to find: just remember to go around Castel Nuovo (DO NOT VISIT THIS CASTLE!! there's nothing to see inside) on its left side and make a left after you passed it and you'll be at the Hostel in no time. It's an excellent base for day trips (buses to Pompei, Ercolano and ferries to Capri, Ischia are basically across the street from it), as well as for visiting Naples. The area around the hostel was quite clean and not very spooky, like in other parts of the city. Also, the staff speak excellent English and they give very good directions, so you can trust them 100%.

Disliked: There's nothing to dislike, not even for my mother, who does not actually fit the profile of hostel guests :)

Liked: I'd read the stella reviews and this hostel absolutely lived up to them! Staff are lovely and so helpful, location is great, it's really high up in the building which makes you feel really safe and secure, they have proper delicious cocktails for 3 euros, it was full of super friendly travellers, they do a decent free breakfast and they make your bed daily! Couldn't recommend it more!

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: The staff we're incredibly friendly and accommodating. We arrived very early in the morning, 6.30am, and we're welcomed to the hostel with no issue and encouraged to use the common room, computers and offered breakfast even though we we're technically not entitledto breakfast until the next day. They helped us find the buses to Pompeii and advised us towards the cheaper boat to Capri. Breakfast was very good as well with yogurt, fruit salad, cereals, toast, juice, coffee etc on offer. The rooms had good and free wifi access and bathrooms we're clean.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike. The elevator is coin operated, uses 5cent pieces, but the hostel gave us a stack for free anyway :)

Liked: the people from the hostel is really friendly and helpfull, the place is really clean and the breakfast is good, the beds are comfortable and it has a happy hour and cocktails are just 3 euros!

Disliked: the area where it is located is not that safe, but at the end is naples so all the city is like that!

Liked: The property was great. Friendly staff, facilities.

Disliked: It was in Naples... surprised by how shady it really was. Also, a small number of bathrooms for the number of people staying there.

Liked: Simply wonderful atmosphere. A great place to meet other tourists either at the common area, slumped over watching tv or in the break area eating a hearty breakfast or enjoying late night (extremely cheap) cocktails. Bathrooms were very clean. Staff was extremely friendly and provided us all the assistance we needed with maps and tourist info.

Disliked: They provide a dvd player in your private room and the thin walls mean if your neighbors have a movie on late then the noise will be sure to keep you from sleeping. Wifi signal in the private room on the fifth floor was weak.

Liked: The staff explained in detail how to get to Pompeii and the historic sites in Naples. They also recommended an amazing pizza place that was also inexpensive.

Disliked: The internet stopped working on their computers while I was in the middle of typing a long email. They didn't get it working again during the time that I was there.
