Liked: hostel of the sun was by far the most fun and friendly place we have stayed at. staff were amazing. had everything you could possibly want, free internet, washing, breakfast, travel guide books (every sort for italy), perfect location for day trips, movies , the list goes on and on. made our stay feel like home. definately recommend to anyone going to naples and if anyone is going to Rome DO NOT stay at andy's guesthouse or b&b dante THEY SUCKED!!!!

Liked: the staff is really incredible!! The hostel itself is good, nothing extraordinary but the guys who work there make it almost perfect!! Great location as well!! If you are going to Napoli, thats the place! The only thing is the price, €20 is a bit expensive..this is not norway afterall..

Liked: I couldn't pay for staying on the first day because of my bank card had a problem. The staff was tolerant, they let me to pay the amount in 4 peaces on the last 4 days. ( I stayed there 8 nights. )

Liked: The staff here was amazing I LOVED it and basically wanted to stay forever. The place is so homey and they have lockers for everyones suitcases and bags so you don't have to worry about your stuff and can just hang out and watch a variety of DVDs in English. I would recommend this place to people traveling together or alone.

Liked: everything, umm very friendly, good location, great common room...in a place like napoli it is like a mirage of hostels. stayed in 4 different hostels all around italy (even one that is apparently the 5th best hostel in the world) i liked Hostel of the Sun better.

Liked: This hostel is by far the best hostel we stayed at during our Italy trip (out of 8 hostels). The staff is just amazing when it comes to friendliness and giving you information about the city. And the best thing is that their friendliness felt really genuine. The hostel was surprisingly small!! Only a few rooms and bathrooms, all very nicely and colorfully decorated, and a supercute kitchen where they served a REAL breakfast in the morning. (With cereal, milk, juice, tea and toast as compared to only a coffee & cornetto at other places which will keep you full for about 5 minutes..) The location was pefect, next to the harbour so you can sit by the ocean and sunbathe and still be within walking distance of the old town and museums. Obviously I am just blown away by this place. However, there are a couple of things to be improved. The most important thing - PLEASE MAKE THE HOSTEL SMOKE FREE!!!!! I am amazed that people are allowed to smoke in the tiny kitchen at this tiny hostel as the wind from the balcony will quickly transfer all the smoke to the rest of the hostel, making it so uncomfortable.. I am also not too pleased by eating my breakfast and breathing smoke at the same time. I know this is Italy, but it is also 2006 when most EU countries have made public restaurants, buses, hotels etc. smoke free!!! I paid money to wash my clothes and hung them outside on the laundry lines on the balcony, and one guy was smoking right next to it and held his cigarette 5 cm from my underwear. I mean, come on! The other thing I wish to see is some AC in the rooms.. But I guess this is a way to keep the cost down. All in all, this is the place to stay in Naples, unless you have asthma of course..

Liked: Very friendly, knowledgable, helpful staff who went out of their way to help, but also weren't at all intrusive. Fresh fruit juice was included in the breakfast, free internet, films, funky decor, large bathrooms with privacy, not communal ones. Very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

Liked: This hostel is just simply AWSOME!!! I stayed there 3 nights and had not one problem. they offer laundry service, its a 5min walk to the port where you can either catch a ferry to capri or buy a bus ticket to pompii!!! the staff is wonderful, they have a lot of energy and they cook for everybody sometimes. breakfast is very pleasant, they set some cute tables up and offer more or less a continental breakfast, the breakfast area is very clean!! I would choose no other hostal in naples than this one!!!
