Liked: I could not have asked for a better experience for my first visit to Napoli. I wanted to retrace steps from my family tree and also wanted an understated, authentic, and safe place to stay during my holiday trip. I've worked and stayed in many hostels before and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived, because Buonanotte e Buongiorno is more of a bed and breakfast than a larger, more detached establishment. It is much more like being a personal houseguest and I felt entirely comfortable, at home, and more than welcome - aspects which can sometimes be rare for a single female traveler. The owner of the property takes great pride in his city, his heritage, and his job in welcoming visitors like myself; his presence and assistance certainly make an enormous difference and this is obvious from the guestbook on display, which is filled with hand-written thank-you notes from previous visitors. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the environment is unusually quiet, which makes for a nice pause amidst the wild energy so common in the streets of Napoli. The rooms are all unique and all maintained personally by the owner. There is a small but happy common area including a shared kitchen. For anyone looking for a laid-back and peaceful approach to discovering Napoli, this is truly a gem tucked away in the heart of a passionate city.

Liked: The description on this website is perfectly accurate : this is a small guesthouse for independent travellers on a budget. Our room was really large and comfortable, the location is wonderful and the owner gives very good advice on where to go or eat.

Disliked: A little bit more of cleanliness wouldn't be a problem. Also, don't expect to see the owner before 9 in the morning.

Liked: The owner andre was very nice. He was very helpful in suggesting things to do and restaurants. He also made us coffee from Naples, every morning, which was delicious. The Bedroom we stayed in was really big and it had a nice view of the city.

Disliked: I would of like it to be a bit more clean in the washroom and the area where the bed was. Other than that the room was great, and I would recommend it to other people.

Liked: (1) Extremely convenient: Naples was within easy walking distance, and I walked all over town for a couple of weeks. I had come especially for the Archaeological Museum, which was ten minutes away (downhill). (2) The room was clean and relatively quiet (except for a lunatic local neighbour who sang Italian pop songs very loud before the football on Saturday nights: everyone has their windows open). (3) Andrea is a star, one of those splendid people one occasionally meets who is the heart of kindness and helpfulness.He remained polite even when I trampled all over his new-mopped floor. (4) The kitchen facilities were excellent. I made my own coffee, as I left each morning before Andrea came round at 9.00 with breakfast. There is a shared fridge, which people respected. I wouldn't share ex-guests leftovers, though,as a packet of sushi had an unusal blue colour. (5) It was pleasant chatting in the dining room in the evening with other guests. There were two separate PhD students doing art history, for example, who'd come to Naples for their studies.

Disliked: I am not sure if this is a plus or minus: I was astonished at the rubbish collection in Naples. Everyone dumps plastic bags of rubbish in big metal council bins in the streets. These appear to be emptied once a week. They are unbelievably over-filled after a few days, and stink horribly. It is a shock, and saddening, to see many scavengers making a living, ripping open the bags to find an odd sandal (maybe they hope to find the other one another day). It makes me very, very happy to live in a land where the facilities are different. That is the positive.

Liked: Andrea was a great host, he explained the city to us and the best sites to see and places to avoid. His local knowledge was great and allowed us to make the most of our trip- he even helped us with other places we were visiting in Italy! The property was clean and in a great location. I would definately recommend staying there to anyone first visiting Naples.

Liked: Andrea is as cool as a host can be! Do yourself a favor and let him tell you about his city and its surroundings. My girlfriend and I dropped almost all of our plans and went with Andreas suggestions. The result? - A truly fantastic experience off the beaten track! Thank you Andrea for your kindness and hospitality - we hope to see you again some day.

Liked: Character is excellent for backpackers. Kitchen available for self catering. Owner Andrea is extremely friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Cleaniness can be improved. Toilet seat cover cannot stand on its own and hence sits on your back when you are using the toilet. Signage to the premises is not clear enough as the address does not mention that the guesthouse is on 1st floor...

Liked: 1.In three days I had relax because I was alone, this was really nice. All alone in an apartment (because the hostel is composed of a few rooms). 2.The owner gave me good directions and travel on public transport. 3.The owner is honest.

Disliked: 1.The owner showed me a room and told me that I could only use it for two days, then I should go to another room because new customers had booked the room (that room), this was not true. Nobody can't choose the room only old customers because they know the rooms. The Customers were new.

Liked: The innkeeper, Andrea, is great. We didn't see much of him, but he welcomed us warmly with an introduction of Napels and things to do, to see and where to eat. There was also a phone available with which we could call him at all times if we needed anything.We slept in a room witha wooden ceiling, everything obviously original from 100s years ago.It was vey calm and quiet, we didn't hear the streets and the honking cars once.Definitely a place to recommend!!! (but not for people with reduced mobility!)

Disliked: The toilet seat didn't go all the way up, so you had we had it against our back hile doing natural business... Big deal! ;-)

Liked: Andrea was the perfect host! He was really helpful and showed us the best places to explore in Napoli that we wouldn't have found otherwise. Facilities were great, nice big room and ensuite. Cornettos and coffee included! Highly recommended!!

Liked: Andrea the innkeeper gave us very useful information of where to visit and eat in Naples. We had full use of the kitchen and fridge. The room was comfortable and adequate in size with an en suite bathroom, television and the fittings were stylish. We were very comfortable there. There were quite a few steps from the road to the room but Andrea helped us with our luggage. We would definitely recommend this property.
