Liked: The staff was very helpful and directed us where we wanted to go. The room was very clean with lockers. Had a pretty good kitchen.

Liked: The garden its beautiful at night. Napoli doesn't worth for me at night+ the cab costs a lot, so staying at the hostel was an excellent choice!. The Kayak Napoli (the ''wild route'' ) that advise me to do the girls from the hostel was great! Everyone has to try it!!

Disliked: Just more power points. In the room with 10 people it was very difficult to load cellphones or cameras with only one for all.

Liked: I just loved the place! Excellent people, nice garden, big kitchen and the place is well sonnected with other parts of the city. i will definately come back to La Controra :)

Liked: The comum area was nice, everything is new and the rooms are ok.

Disliked: The bethroom had water on the floor... And was not so clean.. But was ok. I had worst in my life.

Liked: The staff at the hostel are great, they are very helpful, will take you out at night and show you where to go for a few drinks, are warm and happy to get involved with guest banter and shenanigans/partying. However it's also a great place to relax. Easy day trip to the amalfi coast and pompeii.

Disliked: The size of the toilet cubicles would only be comfortable if you had no legs. As for the shower, if you have a rotund girth you will have difficulty getting out of the shower as the doors open inwards and you have to squeeze around it to get out. Ensuite bathroom was broken when we were there.

Liked: Sometimes you walk into a hostel and you just know that you've found someplace special. Out of the 20 or so hostels that I've stayed in, this is one of the most beautiful and social. It was very easy to meet people here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. WiFi was fast and reliable. The public areas of the hostel center around a lounge with lots of comfortable couches, WiFi, and electrical outlets, around a kitchen and dining area with small tables, and around an outdoor area. This setup makes it easy to meet people and make new friends. The Metro is a short walk from the hostel, although when I was there, one Metro entrance was shut down for construction work. Note: This is not a party hostel. Although there were groups of high school aged travelers, most of the people I saw were in their early 20s to mid 30s.

Disliked: People smoke in the courtyard area of the hostel. A lot. The rooms are cooled by opening windows. It's too hot not to leave them open. But the smoke from the courtyard got sucked in through my window, so the room smelled like smoke. I found myself coughing very frequently at the hostel, as my body did not respond well to the smoke. Also, people tend to stay in the courtyard area quite late, which makes it harder to sleep. To combat the noise, the public areas are shut down at about 12 or 1 AM. For the courtyard, this is too late, as the previously mentioned smoke and noise impact those in rooms facing the courtyard. But for those in the lounge quietly using wifi, this is too early. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but not unsafe. It's very hard to get the correct change for the Metro. (Not the hostel's fault.) The Metro ticket machines almost never work properly.

Liked: The people and staff.. all very friendly. The facilities were great and it was safe

Disliked: Breakfast could do with more fruit. The location is a bit out, but the metro makes it easy to get about.

Liked: Was supposed to stay here 2 days and ended up staying 6 - amazing place, courtyard and lounge make it really easy to meet other people and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Felt like home after about a couple of days.

Disliked: if the metro was more frequent it be easier to get to but it not very difficult. NO PLUGS, so hard to find a socket.

Liked: The staff were friendly and there is a huge kitchen to prepare your own meals. It's very easy to meet and interact with other travellers in the huge outdoor grassy area, and the the place was clean!!! Also liked the giant lockers.

Disliked: Nothing that I disliked. I would happily come back again.

Liked: Very spacious and clean

Disliked: Receptionist was being pedantic about small things and not very helpful... Fair enough that you cannot buy alcohol or make noise outside after 12am, but it would be nice to be able to sit inside one of the common rooms because if you dont go out, you have no choice but to go to sleep at 12am.

Liked: Very secure place for travellers - had a person on the counter 24 hours a day so that no-one could get in without being seen on the video and the gate opened.

Disliked: Nothing disliked about the property but Naples in general was pretty dirty with garbage left along the streets in the area.

Liked: Nice big outside area to chill in the sun. Really quirky street art in the area. Nice and close to metro.

Disliked: Once of the receptionists was new I think, and really had no idea. Rest of the staff was excellent tho.

Liked: All the staff was very helpful and gave good tips about where to go in Napoli and how to get to places. The rooms are huge, the lockers were big enough to put my whole luggage in, all the facilities are very comfortable and they have a beautiful garden. Also, they are very close to metro station and shops.

Disliked: They could think about changing the shower enclosure doors, the yellow ones, on the second floor.

Liked: I love this hostel. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean, the kitchen is great, the courtyard is amazing. I have met some fantastic people in the courtyard area, people I have ended up travelling with. The staff are friendly and make your stay in Napoli that much more special.

Disliked: A few more female showers wouldn't hurt.

Liked: I went there last year, it was amazing, they took a picture of me and a group of other travelkers, they promised to post it on their wall. So i came back this year to check it out, It really is on the wall. It's still amazing I love the hostel!! I'd love to have time to check out their new on in rome!!

Disliked: I'm not a big fan of naples itself, everything is far from eachother. but nothing wrong with the hostel

Liked: There was an outside patio area and organized events at night in the hostel. The staff was very helpful and had free maps of the city. It was close to a Metro Stop and not too long of a walk to the city center. The bathrooms were clean.

Disliked: Breakfast could have been a little better.

Liked: Great value at it's current price. Although it's not "downtown", I don't know if Naples really has a "downtown" and this hostel was about a 2 min walk to the subway which could easily get you to the water for a boat or the train station. Staff were great and the courtyard wa awesome to hang out in. Definately ask the staff how to get to the pizza place that is up the hill just past the metro, because the pizza/pasta there is amazing and if you ask for takeout it costs around €4-5.

Disliked: wifi didn't make it to any of the rooms, but other than that not problems.

Liked: It wasn't my first time I stayed in La Controra and definitely not the last. Everything about this place is great - location, cleanliness, staff. But the greatest is the atmosphere! I met really wonderful people there.
