Maree LakeyI liked the location, really close to the center and Duomo, everything you need and public transport all within easy reach. Gabriella is really lovely and makes a big effort to communicate even with limited English. I had learned just a little bit of Italian before I arrived which was really helpful. I think there should be better advice about it being necessary to ring Gabriella before you arrive so you can meet and get the key, because this was very confusing at the beginning as I was expecting an official hostel address. Also, I stayed 10 nights but only received clean sheets and a towel after the seventh night which was not so great as it was very hot in Milan at that time and I would have thought the money paid would include a change of linen more often than once a week. But the apartment was very clean and bathroom was good. l had to hire a towel which actually costs 10 EUR, not 5 as is stated on the website. Breakfast was not included which I think should also be stated on the website. I was also not sure if the kitchen was able to be used by guests as this was blocked off by a curtain, however I was welcome to use the fridge which was helpful. I always felt safe and secure at Helios Room and it was nice living in a small apartment rather than a big hostel. I would recommend it as an affordable place to stay in Milan, which is a very expensive city. I hope to be back again! |

Chloe LohThe view from the room was great, view of a beautiful monument. Across from big shopping centre (expensive brands), 10 min walk to closest metro (Duomo) or the tram is outside the building, near supermarket, macdonalds, and pizzerias. Because this hostel is in a private apartment floor within a complex, you can not find it on the street via the address given. You must contact Helios room and arrange a meeting time and place. After that, its great! They are lovely people, although they do not speak a lot of english. The apartment has three rooms with one bathroom, and the place is very clean!!! There is no internet, but internet in milan is pretty rare. You can find one at Duomo station and all the information desks are at Duomo as well. Stay here! its a great location! great value for money! |

Customer reviewHelios Rooms was in a great location. It was a short walk to the Duomo and had great transport links. There was a bit of confusion as we did not realise we needed to ring before showing up, after searching for the place following the directions, we rang and Gabriella came to get us and took us to Helios Rooms which was more like a private apartment than a hostel. It was lovely and clean and Gabriella was so helpful despite the language barrier about Milano. |
