Liked: It is in the city of lucca, so you can go every where. There where a lot of rooms so it is easy to have a bed. It was clean, you have a internetpoint and you can walk in and out when you want!

Disliked: Not every staf member was realy friendly. But well i stay there for one night so it was good!

Liked: getting out of there

Disliked: The key they give you to your locker opens any locker... so not safe. And trying to explain why this sitution concerned me, all I got from the hotel-hostel staff member was a "fuckoff" in italian... Not enough bathroom per person facilities but the place in itself is ok, what made me wish I could go elsewhere was the staff

Liked: Great location inside the old Lucca walls. Clean. Located in a wondeful old building that used to be a Monastary I think - could have so much more atmosphere, but the place is a little creepy.

Disliked: Not much atmosphere. Only single sex dorms (my boyfriend and I had to stay in separate rooms). Staff not particularly helpful.

Liked: Cheap place to stay in a good location. Clean, large lockers, shared bath reserved for our 8-bed dorm room. Free internet, but only in the lobby.

Disliked: Not a huge fan of bunk beds. And though the doors to the hostel were meant to close at midnight, four new girls came into the room at 3am, waking me. Then they left very early the next morning. Although they tried to be quiet, it was a bit of a disturbance. Also, breakfast was not included, and kinda expensive for what was offered.

Liked: The hostel was lovely - spacious, clean and helpful staff, it felt quite like an old boarding school with big wooden bunk beds and wardrobes, the rooms were big and airy with lots of space between beds and was really cheap and in a great location. Would have been happy to stay there a few nights.

Disliked: The building was so large it didn't seem like it was very full, which was good if you were wanting a quite nice bed for the night but as a lone traveller it may not have been the easiest to meet other people (i was travelling with a friend)

Liked: This place is great if you want a quiet, relaxing base for your stay in Lucca (and surrounding area)! The rooms are large and airy, and the whole place feels very peaceful and serene. Its very clean, and the staff are friendly. There are a few different options for breakfast, which unfortunately is not free, but the coffee is worth every penny! The beds are comfy, and its great value for money.

Disliked: It was difficult to find the hostel from the train station! Good directions were lacking, and Lucca is confusing to navigate at the best of times. I would recommend contacting the hostel directly to ask for directions to avoid wandering around with a heavy backpack like we did! (The city is not that big, so we did find it eventually!) It would also be nice if internet and breakfast were free :) But for this price, you can't really complain.

Liked: the property was very well maintained and clean. it felt much more like a hotel than a hostel. the large cabinets were also great for storage. great location

Liked: It was clean, little bummed it locks down at midnight. But made some sweet friends there.

Disliked: When I took a shower the water got all over the bathroom floor cause the curtain didn't work well.

Liked: Pretty good hostel. Standard HI property, clean and rooms are good. Location is good too, although a little difficult to find from the train station.

Disliked: No social life that I could find. There are a few common spaces that noone seems to use, but no central gathering point where people hang out, so it was difficult to meet anyone.

Liked: Nice rooms, with lockers...Its a big all house, but it has been quite well fixed for this hostel...

Disliked: That day was some school trip and there was lots of noise...but I think it was just that day...

Liked: Helpful staff, they speak a good english. The hostel is very big, so in high season you have more chance to meet other travellers.

Disliked: They have a really big dinning room, but they don't offer the breakfast or a low-cost pasta dinner for example. You cannot connected on their wifi in the bedrooms (because the builiding is quite huge) so you have to be in the lobby.

Liked: One of my best hostel experiences ever--clean, warm, mellow place. Best of all, I had a room to myself and my own bathroom--all for only 19 euros! Of course, that probably won't happen if you're traveling in high season, but the place is definitely worth it.

Disliked: A bit hard to find, but worth it.

Liked: A more traditional hostel than some I have stayed in but in a great spot close to the city walls in this lovely Tuscan town. Make sure you do the walk/ cycle round the walls - I went in autumn and the scenery was stunning. For me Lucca was a nice quiet retreat after 4 days in Florence. I also did a trip to Pisa from here - about 30 minutes on the train. A bit of a walk from the train station, which is outside the walls, but quicker if you go round the walls. The hostel itself is basic but clean and comfortable - dorms with lockers and a shared bathroom and the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant in the building but it isn't run by the hostel. It was a bit of an experience going for a meal here but the food was actually really tasty and good value (11 euros for 2 courses, salad and wine). I didn't think much of the breakfast though. I'd love to go back to this area to do some walking in the hills and I would definitely use this hostel as a base for another trip.

Liked: This hostel is HUGE, but in a good way. It is an old convent, 20 foot ceilings and huge common areas, but it was fairly empty when I was there which made it kind of strange. Inside the walls of Lucca, but a bit of a walk from the train station. No complaints.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.
