Liked: Good location, up graded for free to private room

Disliked: Upgraded for free to privqte room, but the privqte room did not have air conditioning so we had to leave windows open and had so many mosquitos it was hard to sleep

Liked: This place is all about the location. It is right around the corner from SMN Station and a quick walk to Duomo and other amazing places. Shopping is around the corner, and the night life in Florence is probably the best in Italy. The hostel rooms were kept nice and clean, but the bathrooms had a drainage problem with the showers. If the shower ran longer than five minutes it would run over and that left standing water on the floor despite the efforts of the staff to mop it up ( a breeding ground for mosquitoes). Fortunately there was not much need to stay in the bathroom other than for a quick shower before running out to site-see, shop, or party. One asset of this hostel is the older gentleman who runs it, he is very endearing and assumes you understand everything he is saying to you. But most of all, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION

Liked: clean place but with a non english speaking staff(although there was a guy helping on that, the older man was screaming at me in italian all the time I asked something..)it is quite pleasant place

Liked: good location near station and market, and cheap. Lots of noise comes through the windows from the street though, and the shared bathroom was a bit scruffy and the shower drain half-blocked. for the price though, the bed was decent, the room nice and big, and I'd happily stay there again.

Liked: The owner was very helpful and nice and the location cant be beat: 2 minute walk to train station SMN or to the main city sights. 5 mins from Accademia, laundry just a block away.

Liked: The Hostel is quite small, just few rooms, so there is a nice atmosphere and no crowds of torurists. The location is pretty perfect, via faenza will lead you to Duomo after just a 5 minute walk, the main trains station Firenze Santa Maria Novella is also just few minutes away from here. The staff is friendly and eventhought me and my 2 friends we booked a 5bed dorm they gave us a tripple room :))

Liked: The first night I arrived, the bed I was meant to have wasn't ready, so I was given a private room with a full bed at the hostel Livi House next door (which I think is run by the wife of the owner of Central Hostel Florence). Livi House was great, although it was the only time in Florence that I got a bug bite. Central Hostel Florence is average. It wasn't a place to meet people and the worst part was the huge fiasco about paying with credit card. HostelBookers says that credit cards are accepted, and I was told by one of the guys at the hostel that the owner didn't like taking credit cards because he had to pay a tax. When I insisted paying with credit card because I didn't have much cash on me, the owner started yelling in Italian (he didn't speak English, which is problematic since he's the only one working there). He said that my credit card was void even though I had used it the day before and used it afterward with no problems whatsoever. I don't know what kind of broken machine he had, but the whole situation was a huge headache and I wouldn't stay there again.

Liked: This was a horrible hostel. There was one broken bathroom and one bathroom that looked like a torture chamber in which the shower filled to your ankles. Like much of Europe, there was no soap available. Smell of water damage everywhere. Staff lacked English skills. Wifi in entirely separate building only. No travel desk; not even a free map. Mosquitos. Rather chilly and no control over heat in room. Only plus was proximity to the train station.

Liked: The owners are a very nice older couple who are helpful and tries hard to speak English. Located very good, close to both city center and central station (Firenze SMN). The shower occationally lived its own life with hot and cold water on and off. Very cold in the room at this time of the year, because the heating is turned off day time and turned on a little bit too late in the evening... This is probably not a problem at all during spring/summer/autumn.A good place for a good price.

Liked: The place is fine, cheap and clean. The staff is ok but the do not handle properly the reservation made on the internet so it is better if you print the reservation out and take it with you to the hostel.

Liked: Great place to stay in the centre of Florence, All staff are really helpful and friendly (The Manager Mario in particular). Free Wifi, small but usable kitchen, walking distance to sites, supermarket next door. Would certainly recommend this hostel!

Liked: Hostel is a very short walk from the main train station, and on the side of town closer to the main attractions. We were lucky to get a free upgrade to a 2 person room from a 5 person dorm. As it was my friends birthday we also got a birthday bottle of Champagne delivered as well. Kitchen was not the best, however still contained stove, microwave, cutlery, fridge etc.Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and hostel was a good place to meet other tourists.

Liked: The owners of this hostel are awesome! I really enjoyed my stay here; we felt very looked after and cared for. It was like staying with family. We had a private room and it was a good size and was nice and clean. Lots of sunshine and ventilation. The kitchen wasn't as clean as I would keep in my own house, but I certainly wouldn't have that as a reason not to stay here. There is a big central courtyard area outside the kitchen that is set up with tables so you can eat outside.It's really quiet at night almost all the time, so you should get a really good sleep.There is a little supermarket right underneath, and lots of internet cafes on the street. The location is excellent - just around the corner from the Central Market, and also the really good quality leather shops, which was fantastic.I would definitely recommend it.
