Liked: Staying at maison was great! Because it's so small (about the size of an apartment, with 2 dorm rooms) it was fun and really easy to meet and talk with the other people staying there. Yuri is really friendly and helpful. Cleaners come round everyday so the dorms and bathrooms always clean. The location is very central- about 10min walk from the train and from the window of the dorm you can see the duomo (it takes about 1-2min to walk to it), and it's also really close to the markets.

Disliked: No lockers. very creaky top bunks and quite a lot of street noise- if these are things that bother you.

Liked: everything was so perfect, small hostel, like a big family, in a great location in florence, clean place, kitchen with all of the facilities and great stuff!

Disliked: none!

Liked: Nice location, kitchen and bathrooms

Disliked: Almost impossible to find! There is an other name in the building... princes or ladys maison ... gay stuff. The room is TERRIBLE. Very old beds and its on the 4th floor (NO lifts)

Liked: The location is the best thing about this hostel. The description says its 2 mins from the Duomo but in reality it's less than that and couldn't be much closer to the heart of Florence. The staff stay downstairs in separate accommodation and leave you to your own devices - but are there if you need them. Very good value though.

Disliked: The dorms, kitchen and bathrooms were clean enough I always felt itchy in my bed and had to move beds. No sign of bed bugs though. Also had the squeakiest bunk bed ever which strangely didn't have any ladders which made it difficult to get in and out of the top bunk. No lockers which I did not like

Liked: The owner was very nice and very welcoming. We loved the feel of the place, and how welcoming everyone was. It was also at a perfect location from the station and very close to the David.

Disliked: It was very loud, and there are no quiet hours. It was fine for us, but for many people I know it would have been a problem.

Disliked: Heard it had bedbugs but not confirmed. I had a restless sleep.

Liked: Free wifi (which seemed rare in Italy!); great location; good kitchen; cool roommates.

Liked: Excellent location.

Disliked: Horrible Wifi connection. Saggy beds. Street noise. No lockers, or even locks on room doors. When I got there (reception is open till 11pm and I got there before 7pm) none of the staff were there. I buzzed at the front door for a while until I was let in, went up to the top floor (where the hostel is) rang the buzzer for a while, until one of the guests came and told me reception was downstairs. After more buzzing at that door, another guest in the downstairs rooms let me in, and I had to wait another 30 min for the guys working there to get back. That's pretty unprofessional to say the least. Then the next night, there was confusion as to how many people were in a room and who was who, and who had paid (the staff guy didn't know who anyone was and didn't know who was supposed to be staying) which lead to a pretty good verbal fight between the staff guy and one of the female guests (he claimed she didn't pay, she disagreed. Based on their bookkeeping methods, I think it's quite likely that she did pay and they didn't keep record of it). Both parties were yelling, but the staff guy flat out told her that he wasn't listening to her side of the argument and to either pay or he'd call the cops. Didn't improve my opinion of the guy.

Liked: The staff could not be more helpful and welcoming, it is very central, the room we were staying in has a beautiful roof painting, all the facilities are excellent.

Disliked: Bit to many beds in one room.

Liked: Location is good, as it is very close to Duomo. Everywhere is just in walking distance.

Disliked: The beds were not comfortable. I couldn't be sure if the bed sheets were really washed. Depends on the period of the year of course, but when I stayed there, it was quite cold at the evenings. But they didn't have even blanket. We had to sleep under a bed sheet. If you can afford and find a better place, go there.

Liked: They had a kitchen and I have a crazy story to tell now.

Disliked: Easily the WORST hostel I have ever stayed at due to the owners of the "business". This is a business run by creepy men who act like children. Initially they were great and nothing but friendly. I stayed for two nights and paid upon arrival and on my second night the guy working told me I only paid one night. I insisted I paid two and he proceeded to scream at me inches from my face, call me a liar, swear at me in Italian and tell me if I didn't get out he was calling the police. When I went to get my bag and leave he approaches me and says that he now sees that I did pay, but no apology for the incredible disrespect. Not only this but they register as a b&b but sneak beds in later in the day, and record everythig on paper with pencil and provide no receipts, or record of your stay. It is a completely illegal and illegitimate business, I wish he would have called the cops! The showers were also filthy it looked like a muddy dog had used it. It smelt of mold and broccoli (maybe it was the muddy dog) and I also witnessed them screaming at another guest. Completely horrible people, DO NOT STAY HERE

Liked: 1. Location was excellent. 2. No curfew. 3. 2 bathrooms

Disliked: When I arrived the people were drunk that owned it. The owner was very creepy with me and just because I am smiling out of graciousness to get my key, doesn't give you a key into my pants. The mattress was the thinnest thing. I could feel the springs in my back. I was freezing at night. The last night I was there, I arrived late the third night of my stay (around 12am) and when I got into my bed there were no blankets, and there was nothing I could do about it. I had to put all of my clothes on and shiver until early when I left. I paid for breakfast. It was stale bread and jam.

Liked: A very nice hostel. Stayed in 5 bed dorm, spacious and clean. Kitchen facilities were great and the staff are friendly and sociable. Just a minutes walk away from the duomo and most of the sights in Florence and best valued place going.

Disliked: Nothing really just that if you get the top bunk, it is REALLY squeeky.

Liked: I really was feeling in home and was a great recover to my mood stay there for one night. Andrea was so receptive and gently. The location is really good, close the central station and the mainly touristic points. I paid the lowest price here until now in my trip. I totally recomend this place to visite Firenze!!!

Disliked: As I wrote... is like home. A big home with many strangers. It can be an amazing experience, but sometimes could be unsafe or not so clean...

Liked: The location was great, very close to Duomo and other interesting places. There was a kitchen available to all guests and internet (one computer for all), some brochures about what to see or where to eat in the town.

Disliked: The breakfast is not included and this property was more like a hostel with more guests who changed frequently so to get to shower wasn't that easy sometimes.
