Liked: Lorenzo is a nice and friendly guy! We were given lots of good and relatively inexpensive recommendations on restaurants and gelato! We had free authentic home cooked Italian dinner by Lorenzo himself. We booked an 8-bed mixed dorm and was upgraded to a 3-bed private room with a washroom right beside it. It was definitely a comfortable upgrade. It's central located to most of the major attractions and about 10 mins walk from the train station. It's also a wonderful place to meet people, especially during the free meals.

Disliked: Despite being located in a secure neighbourhood, it would have been even more secure if we could lock our own bedrooms, not just the front door. Other than that, the property is well run and a great place to stay!!

Liked: the owner is really friendly and helpfull, the rooms and bathrooms are big and clean, dinner and brekfast are good for the money paid!

Disliked: it's on the fifth floor and there is no elevator! (this is very bad when you have a 20kg bag)

Liked: Awesome location, right in the centre. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good breakfast and dinner (both were free!).

Liked: The location is very good, steps to all attractions of the city. Lorenzo is very helpful, and also he makes breakfast and dinner for you!!!You can use internet 20min per day, no wify. They don't have lockers.

Liked: B&B Maison had a great atomsphere and personality. It was situated literally in the centre of Florence..literally a five minuet walk down the road will take you to places like the Duomo, Statue of David etc. Owner is very fun and has a great sense of humour, very helpful about florence and recommends the best way to get around and see things. Apartment still hostel, so a great way to meet people and have a good chat.

Disliked: If your a person who doesnt like stairs - then its best to stay away from B&B Maison, its on the top level of a four storey high apartment so its quiet a walk to get up to it, especialy after a full day of walking around the city. Also the outside noise of the street down below can be very irritating, especially if it is a hot summers night and the windows are open, some nights I couldnt sleep due to the noise,but after a few nights i seemed to get used to it.

Liked: The owner! Lorenzo was really friendly and hospitable! He was a great cook. The free dinner was really splendid! :)The room was pretty too!

Disliked: We were at the other building, B&B Florida and had to walk back to the main building for dinner. The breakfast timing was too short, from 8-9am. We did not have a chance to eat the breakfast because it was difficult to meet the timing.

Liked: B&B Maison is a charming place to stay! Lorenzo is extremely helpful and can advise you on everything to see and do in Florence. The hostel is in a GREAT location and it is clean and homely. Breakfast of eggs on toast and tea/coffee is served til late and you can have your evening meal there too for no extra charge so very good if you’re a poor backpacker! The place is really a large apartment, there are only 2 dorms so it’s a good place to meet people. Just make sure you ask for a key for the hostel if you’ll be out late and put on plenty of mosquito repellant before going to bed. The windows are wide open onto the street to keep the rooms cool as there’s no air conditioning so it can be a bit noisy but its not a major problem. Also it’s no harm just to check when you’ve booked that you will be staying in Lorenzos apartment and not in the small hotel that he also runs down the road. I stayed here for 3 nights and would definitely recommend it to anyone on a low budget trip to Florence.

Liked: I've been traveling through Italy for 2 weeks staying only at hostels and B&B Maison was my favourite by a long shot. The owner, Lorenzo is very knowledgeable about great things to see and do, hilarious, and an amazing cook! This went above and beyond any expectations I had.

Liked: I can't recommend this hostel enough! It is literally 2minutes walk from the center of Florence so location gets top marks. Lorenzo, the owner, is unbelievably helpful and went out of his way to recommend the best sights and walking route to all of them. He cooked us eggs in the morning and really delicious pasta at night, which included wine and was a really nice way of meeting other travellers. I had the best hostel stay of my life here, and I have stayed in quite a few hostels. The warmth and friendliness is unbeatable. Stay here and love Florence!

Disliked: There wasn't any air-conditioning in the rooms and I'd bring earplugs because it can get noisy outside the hostel! But all in all, the pluses outweigh the minuses.

Liked: Lorenzo is the best!!! He is a great cooker, is always helpfull and a lot of fun!! The hostel is a great place to meet people, and the atmosphere is GREAT! He really makes u feel like home!

Disliked: theres no wireless and u have some minutes to use the computer (but it is not bad, because the hostel is so much fun that u dont want to loose time surfing the internet). There are no lockers, but since the hostel is not so big, it was not a big deal.

Liked: Lorenzo and Sabino were a great help in making some recommendations to eat out and sight see! Breakfast AND dinner is provided!! I stayed in the building on San Lorenzo street which was more like an apartment than a hostel.. it was lovely!!

Liked: Lorenzo was very helpful in getting me and my friend settled in. It was situated in the city centre, right by the Duomo. It was comfortable and very clean. I highly recommend staying here.
