Originally a medieval hostel for pilgrims, the Bigallo Hostel lies on a hill with a breathtaking view of Florence (8 km. far from the centre) and offer 50 beds.

With a breathtaking view of Florence below, the "Antico Spedale del Bigallo" is a medieval building of 13th century, which lies on a hill 5 km. SE of the city.

Formerly hospital for pilgrims and wayfarers, today it is a modern and comfortable Youth Hostel with appealing medieval dormitories. The Bigallo Y. H. welcomes third millennium pilgrims who yearn to live in an atmosphere outside of time and space and enjoy both the beauty of nature and of the nearby art centers. It also has a ceremony room, fit for weddings, anniversaries, concerts, art exhibitions and conferences. Open from the 1st of April to 30th September (for groups also in other periods).

Accommodation Information

Since it used to be a hospital for pilgrims, the beds were created in the same style: as you can see in the pictures, we offer a 12 wood "boxes" accommodation, for a total of 24 beds (2 beds in each box) to maintain the original architecture and style of the building.
