Liked: Very friendly and helpful caretaker named Jonathan.
Disliked: Nothing in mind. Only one bathroom for 15-20 people.A big group can suffer as everybody has to wait for his/her chance.

Liked: Jonathan is a wonderful host, and this really makes the difference with Dany House :)
Disliked: The bunks were a little rickety, but this hostel is really inexpensive so its not that big a deal.

Liked: Good atmosphere, Jonathan was wonderful and helpful, free wine every night made it easy to meet people. Breakfast was cheap and delicious!
Disliked: Jonathan had overbooked 2 of the 3 nights we were there, made the bathroom a bit crowded. We received a discount for the 1st night but no the second. It was a wonderful hostel but the bathroom situation got a bit frustrating in the morning.

Liked: Everything ! The facilities were great, the rooms were good and clean. The toilets were also clean and spacious (though shared). It was, as the name suggests a 'HOUSE'! Which is fantastic. But truly and honestly, the thing that makes Dany House amazing is Jonathan & Ella as mentioned a lot in the reviews. From the moment you step in and the moment you leave the house, you feel like you are a part of their family. They will offer you delicious Tuscan wine and chips at night, and show you all the places to go to in Florence on your map. Both are excellent hosts, and this is a hostel experience you will never forget! As Jonathan says; When you think of Florence, you will think of Dany House.. and it's TRUE! They will also make sure that you've been to all the awesome places. I would also recommend the restaurant that Jonathan will tell you about, not far from the hostel - excellent pizzas! There was wifi, a computer to use, and a fantastic common room. I would recommend the 2.50 Euro breakfast as it is lovingly prepared and very sufficient! Jonathan will introduce you to everyone so you will be sure to make hostel buddies - it really is a fantastic atmosphere! We would like to thank Jonathan and his lovely girlfriend Ella for our stay, we would be happy to come back any time! Prue & Amanda
Disliked: Lockers would've been nice - I didn't feel secure leaving things in the room as the room itself was not locked, only the front door.

Liked: Jonathan was amazing, welcoming from the moment you arrive. He points out all the places you could possibly want to see on a map over a glass of red wine. He always checks to see how you are and how you are getting on. The free red wine of an evening is a great way to meet the other people staying in the hostel and have a chat with them. The reviewer below who states it's a half an hour walk into town must walk very very slowly. I found a leisurely walk into town took me 15 minutes at the most.
Disliked: The queue for the bathroom in the morning

Liked: We were happy to have an environment that seemed like it was clean and safe.
Disliked: It is so so so far away from anything travelers would like to see. Literally over half an hour walk to see the main attractions, so going home in the middle of the day to freshen up is not really an option or going out later in the evening and not having to have a long walk back in the dark is pretty much impossible. It is the most cramped space I have ever been in. There is essentially no common area. There is a skinny room with a table and chairs and that is it. Basically just come back to sleep because there is no where to sit and relax on chairs or anything at all and the space that is offered is small, cramped and has minimal seating or room to even breath. We signed up for a room with 8 people sleeping in it. The owner told us that he needed to put and try to shove in one extra person into the room and it would be just for one night and we was so sorry that it was a one night accident in booking, but this was a lie. The bed was there and occupied every single night and we had 9 people sleeping in our room. All of these people were sharing the same bathroom too. This bathroom was the only sink too. So in the morning not only was there a huge line, but you had no room to get a glass of water or anything. There was a kitchen somewhere, but guests were not welcome in this area. The owner also loved to talk about how it was such a great deal, but we paid the same amount for this hostel and got much much less in space and facilities and services in all the other hostels. Breakfast is an additional 2.50 fee and we told us it would be this lavish breakfast lunchish type meal and this was not the case. Basically some bread with different jams. Basically the hostel was hot, cramped, horrible location, and bad facilities. Look somewhere else.

Liked: The free chips and the drinks
Disliked: The staff who is responsible for the cleansing work is really impolite. She brokes my friend's clothes hanger and just put it on her bed. And about changing the beds in dormitory, it will be scolded if we change it on our own but it didn't happen when we were staying at the other hostels!!!!!!!

Liked: The Dany House was by far the best hostel I have ever been to. Jonathan is the most welcoming and kind man I have ever met- he instantly makes you feel right at home. He provides you a map of Florence and marks out all of the best places to go and how much it will cost, and offers any help he can. The hostel itself is super clean and the shower in my room was very spacious (as I'm sure every traveller can appreciate.) There is also free wireless internet, which is very fast. Every night, Jonathan serves wine from his grandfather's vineyard and there is always a great group of people in the common room to spend the night conversing with. A great youth hostel by all accounts.
Disliked: It would be nice to have a locker to store things for added security, although I had no problems at all when I was there. You have to go through 2 locked doors to get into the hostel.

Liked: Jonathan was very nice and the evening snacktime was a nice way to meet the other travelers. Also, having in a computer in the hostel was convenient.
Disliked: It was actually quite far from the Duomo, the train station and almost all of the sites in Florence. It also had one bathroom for about 8-10 people which meant long lines to shower.

Liked: This place is by far the best and most friendliest hostel I have ever stayed at. Jonathon and Ella and great hosts and make everyone feel so welcome. The rooms are a generous size, there's free wifi. Every night Jonathon brings out wine (from his grandfather's vineyard) and nibbles. It's just a realy good atmosphere.
Disliked: The road outside is a little noisy, but this is far outweighed by how good this place is.

Liked: Easy to find. Pretty close to the main attractions, but not in the midst of it all which is nice. Jonathan and Ella are such great hosts. Upon my arrival I was greeted with a glass of red wine by Jonathan. Both Jonathan and Ella went out there way to ensure I had a nice stay. There is such a fun, friendly and warm atmosphere at this hostel. This is the best hostel I have ever stayed!
Disliked: Not alot, but something a little minor- It got a bit hot at night. It might be good to get in airconditioning or more fans.

Liked: What a pleasant hostel. Jonathan could not have been nicer or more helpful. A personable, clean, cheap hostel. This has to be the best deal in Florence. Not in the center of the tourist district in Florence, but only a 30 minute walk from the train station and a 20 minute walk to the Duomo. Would highly recommend.
Disliked: Location is the only negative, and even then it is not so far from all the sites of Florence.
