Liked: It had a great atmosphere and the layout of the dorms was very clever.

Disliked: The Tuscan delights they serve in the evening is a bit misleading....Don't think you can have that instead of dinner because its very sparse. Also there's only one bathroom between 7 so its a bit of a wait in the morning.

Liked: We loved this place! We stayed in a generous sized two bed dorm. Reception is friendly and helpful with booking tours etc. There was free internet. Outdoor sitting area. Great breakfast with fruit salad!! In the evenings there were free drinks and nibbles, which were awesome. It is in the best location. 5 stars!

Disliked: Had to leave for cleaning between I think 11am and 2pm - which is reasonable but a bit annoying.

Liked: Absolutely fantastic location right next to Il Duomo, helpful staff, clean rooms.

Disliked: The door to get in at night is shorter than it appears...don't hit your head! Haha.

Liked: clean, spacious, tasteful and modern interiors, lamp and lockers for each bed, and the partial dividing walls between the dorms....very friendly and helpful staff, great facilities

Disliked: nothing really - it is the most expensive hostel i've stayed in, but academy has the facilities to match. The only other negative was the directions were a little bit confusing - look at a map before you come

Liked: absolutely fantastic! the staff were incredibly helpful- they even took us out one night for drinks! the rooms are spacious and clean, and the hostel itself is so centrally located- literally a few seconds walk away from the duomo. it has a great social atmosphere as well.best hostel i've been to!

Liked: It was my frist time backpacking around Europe and Academy Hostel was great! It was just like the all the reviews said: clean, fun staff, and a perfect place to meet fellow backpackers. Had an awesome time the 2 nights I was there, and I loved that there was an apperitivo at 6:30 pm everyday to meet and mingle with the other people at the hostel!

Liked: friendly helpful welcome. Excellent position, walking distance to major sites so able to get to things before they were crowded.

Disliked: My room on the top floor was a bit cell like but my daughters' room on the first floor was beautiful. Take tea bags if needed.

Liked: It is very clean and pretty, with soaring ceilings and pleasant artwork. It also is right by the Duomo, and really has everything the site says it offers in ample abundance.

Disliked: Not being able to use a credit card for purchases under € 150 and the room was crazy well air conditioned (welcomed when we arrived, but was less pleasing throughout the night while we slept).

Liked: The staff was really helpful in planning out my time in Rome, and they were all super friendly. The bar downstairs was convenient and served good food. The community bathrooms were kept clean and I was impressed that hair dryers were provided.

Disliked: A kitchen would have been nice, but the discounted menu at the bar was a nice alternative. My room was a mess, but only because of the people staying there at the time.

Liked: Absolutely best hostel ever! If I come back to Florence again, I will certainly stay in Academy again!Helpfull and super nice staff! big and clean dom room with privacy. nice snack every night at 7pm.

Liked: Everything! It is right next to the Duomo, the staff are incredibly friendly, the food is great (delicious free pasta in the evening - great way to meet new people) and you get your own locker (and padlock) and a single bed to sleep in.

Disliked: It would be great if there was another shower as there was a bit of the rush in the evening.

Liked: This Hostel was by FAR the best hostel we stayed at in europe, and great value for money. Each day around 6.30pm they put on a few drinks and nibbles so everyone in the hostel who wanted to go got to know each other, and then each night we were there we were taken out by one of the awesome staff with other people from the Hostel to a restaurant that was awesome and really cheap. Really can't say enough about how good this hostel was! :)

Liked: The property was beautiful and clean and was one of the best places that my friend and I stayed while traveling around europe. There really aren't any hidden costs and they're facilities are beautiful and in the heart of Florence.

Liked: Comfortable room (with 2 air-con!) and public space (huge, even with bar), excellent breakfast and position (a step from Dumo church), very friendly staff.

Liked: I normally would never fill out a comment about a hostel but this place was so nice I had to. I would choose this hostel over a 5 star hotel. The staff were amazing and the set up of the hostel made it really easy to meet other guests. It was clean, quite and very central in Florence. I do not want to leave!

Liked: This hostel is great. Possibly the best Ive been to. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Property is in a prime location and there is plenty of info with staff more then helpful with tour recommendations and even booking for us. Free drink and nibbles each nite was also a good way to get ppl to meet each other.

Disliked: If I had to nitpick, you have to be out of the hostel between 11 - 2 for cleaning, but hey, ur on ur holidays and should be sightseein anyway!

Liked: I've not travelled the world, but I've now been to quite a few hostels. This is the best I've stayed at. They've got everything right. Checkout 11am rather than 10am. Breakfast served until 11am. Free food (and wine) at 6.30pm each day. Free internet. Single beds, not bunks. Free towels. Beds made for you. Really nice bathrooms. Lockers with padlocks provided. Perfect location. Incredibly helpful staff. Really friendly atmosphere.
