Liked: everything about this hostel is great. clean, spacious rooms and lockers. great advice from staff. it was so very easy to get to know other people in the hostel during the 6.30 dinner appetizers. also the location is just brilliant. right in the heart of the city.

Disliked: absolutely nothing

Liked: The location of the Academy Hostel is extremely convenient and central to all the major sites. It was very clean and comfortable. The free breakfast and computers for use in the lobby were nice features too.

Disliked: This hostel has a problem with hot water for showers...

Liked: This place is amazing, one of the best I've stayed at out of the 10 hostels I've been to so far. Location - right next to the Duomo and down the road from the david. Very clean place. The beds, lockers and rooms were one of the best I've had so far - almost feels like a 4 star hotel (in comparison to some other hostels anyway). Great common room and the free dinner snack was a great way to meet people, made heaps of friends while in florence. Highly recommended, definitely staying here next time I'm here.

Disliked: Wifi doesnt work in the rooms due to the thick ancient (?) walls but there are more important things in life, in florence anyway.

Liked: Location, ensuite bathroom, room with a view

Disliked: Reception area, which is also places to check Internet and also living room has a lot of echo due to hard surface. Furthermore, the staff has a lot of heated arguments there ALL the time and some guests are rather awkward about it but I suppose it's the Italian way - expressivo! No wifi in the room but only in common room only. Limited by the historical building.

Liked: It was like staying in a hotel, except youre sleeping in a room with people you dont know. It was an excellent value for my money and the best hostel I have stayed in. I will certainly return. I was impressed!

Liked: Great hostel. Free wifi and computers, wine/food in the evenings, decent breakfast, clean everything. Comfortable bed and big bathroom. Beautiful building.

Disliked: Only one bathroom for 7 people in my room. But it didn't pose any problem for me. It stayed clean.

Liked: It was very clean, the rooms were nice, and it was great to be able to relax in the common room and watch a movie!

Liked: washing machines and good breakfast.

Disliked: the water was so cold and `````i could not have a shower properly. Also, the place is so noisy and music is so loud most of the time. You feel you are in a club.

Liked: it is really clean, smells good, the room is nice and the bathroom somehow is always spotless. there are mirrors with good lighting everywhere, definitely recommended for girls everywhere. the breakfast is decent, the staff is really cool and helpful. Definitely stay here.

Liked: Awesome place. Clean, central, nice, good people, the whole package. Would definitely stay again, highly recommend it.

Disliked: No wifi in rooms (mine was right next to reception so it did get the signal), showers are nice but a little weak, Breakfast is pretty basic but that's Florence for you.

Liked: Best hostel ever! I liked everything. The beds were comfty and they were single beds, no bunks. Even got a night lamp at check in and a night stand! Staff really helpful, booked a tour for me that I wanted to do. (best of tuscany tour, do it, it's amazing!). They had a free pasta/wine party where you could meet other people from the hostel. Really clean and nice bathrooms. The location was perfect, next to everything! really good breakfast, even a fruit salad!

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: The staff was very friendly. It almost has a staying with family feel. The hostel is kind of small so it does not really feel like you are staying in a hostel. Everyday there is a free breakfast that includes fruit and other things, and every night there are free snacks that the staff prepares that include pasta, pizza, and free wine.Also the beds a fairly seperate no bunk beds, so you have youe privacy, I would definitely reccommend this hostel to anyone staying in Florence.

Liked: The staff were all very helpful. The rooms were spacious and super clean including the bathrooms. There was even a big tv in the living room with various movie DVD options. The location was good and very vibrant in the day and nights.

Liked: It's not like a domitory. It's a kind of new and modern hostel!I like the dinner they provide us.

Disliked: I prefer non mixed room.

Liked: The free dinners in the evening. It was a great time to meet the other guests.

Disliked: The tiles in the floors creaked, so when you tried to move around the room quietly at night, it was almost impossible.

Liked: Best eating at a hostel I ever had. Breakfast awesome and around 630pm free pizza and pasta and wine. Rooms are awesome and decorated and beds are comfy (FINALLY). Right next to the Duomo and 5 minute walk to the Statue of David. Lots of computers to use. Beer vending machines (enough said).

Disliked: Absolutely NONE.

Liked: Location is brilliant! You could putt a golf ball into the Duomo from the front door. Very clean and staff were uber friendly and most helpful! Breakfast and towel were included, so no nasty added expenses! Very pleasant stay!

Liked: Academy Hostel is fabulous. The rooms are clean and smell like lemon grass. I stayed for a week, and absolutely loved it. Its right near the Duomo which is about as central as you can get in Florence. Its reasonably priced. Theres a great arrangement at 6:00pm with free pasta and wine where you can meet other people in the hostel. Its a social place but its also quiet. Staff are kind and helpful. Its an 11 - 2pm lockout. Theres breakfast provided which is delicious. Free internet. Its what a hostel should be!

Disliked: The showers take a lot of time to heat up.
