Liked: It was located about 5 min walking distance from SMN, so it was really easy to walk to the popular tourist sights of Florence.

Disliked: There was not private bathroom. Provisions in the room were minimal (towels were not given). It was also very cold in the rooms at night during the winter. Overall, the environment could have been better.

Liked: Location. Great connection with free wi-fi. Clean beds and bathrooms. Warm water, great size lockers, big enough to put my huge backpack in! Very friendly staff, gave us a walk tour of the whole hostel, a map and showed us the great places to go in the city. Would come back again.

Disliked: Nothing really, it was cold here, wish they had some type of heating system, other then that it was a great stay.

Liked: Six of us booked Emerald Fields just two days before we arrived in Florence for the weekend, so it was kind of a shot in the dark. It was our first hostel stay and I'd say they definitely delivered. The staff was immediately very friendly and helpful, the rooms - even dorms - are secure, the price is right, and there's a nice little courtyard in the back filled with cats. The beds were very comfortable. Florence is a small city, so it's about 10 minutes from the Duomo. You can walk everywhere from here. If you take the train, don't bother with a cab; just walk!

Disliked: Sound travels in this hostel, but that's the case with every Italian building. After midnight the place is pretty silent.

Liked: The location of the hostel is great. is not on a main st, so was not noisy at all, can get a great nights sleep. as well as being a few minutes walk to david and about 5mins to the duomo. wifi worked in the rooms and in the kitchen/terrace. the guys at the desk were extremely helpful.

Disliked: as a solo traveller there didnt seem to be as big communal vibe as in other hostels (this may have been the time of year i was there though as not many people seemed to be staying there) also there is no stovetop in the kitchen so makes it difficult to cook for yourself!

Liked: Great place, staff are super friendly and very helpful. Room is basic but had everything we needed, and the whole place is spotless.

Disliked: Laundry service is a bit expensive, we would have liked to just do it ourselves by hand, but they're not keen on that kind of thing.

Liked: Only the location was okey.Whit that we mean, it was close to everything.

Disliked: Staff that played loud music even at midnight (in the room, you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in the hostel), the smell was really bad, not the quite place at all where you can get sleep,

Liked: The location of the hostel is good - close to the train and bus stations but central enough to see Florence on foot. The staff were extremely friendly and it's great that they provide something for breakfast (free tea, coffee, bread and jams.) The main hostel was full, so we were put into a room in a flat they own a couple of doors down, which had both positive and negative aspects (this is what I've based my ratings on too). On the plus side, it did mean we were not subject to the compulsory lockout as our rooms were not being cleaned at that time. We also had a fuller kitchen than is available in the main hostel so we were able to cook properly.

Disliked: As mentioned above, we were in a separate flat which had a mix of some guests and some staff living there. Whilst the surfaces were kept clean, the cleaning wasn't done daily like in the main hostel and the bathroom in particular was not as clean as I would have liked. It also meant that there was less opportunity for us to meet fellow travellers and, whilst we were able to use the garden in the hostel, it was impractical to go down the road to do so. Our room gave on to the lightwell and communal areas, so we were kept awake at night and woken early in the morning when others in the flat were up. This was made worse by the lack of air conditioning, meaning out window needed to be open. If the hostel is going to use these rooms at busy times, they need to make sure the quality of stay is equal or perhaps offer the rooms at a discounted rate.

Liked: the propert is in very good location, it's clean, the staff is super friendly, especially antonio, rooms are nice and spacious with lockers. it's good place to meet other travellers.
