Farm Holiday Al Marnich

Al-Marnich is an accommodation (agritourism) in Lombardy (Farm House lake Como - Italy) near Como City (Schignano). This is where you will taste authentic dishes and food specialities of the Lombardy. Available B&B and Half Board accommodation includes double amd family rooms, with some, boasting an original fireplace or a nice terrace/balcony. The property is surrounded by lush greenery, with a panoramic hiking trail and a small gym. To 1 hour from Milan and to 45 minutes from Lugano.

We have gone to great lengths to get the details right for you in our lovingly restored rooms, creating a cosy romantic atmosphere. Simple, country-style furnishings complete the ‘feel’ of the rooms. We have 12 double rooms with bathrooms, which 7, with fireplace. All rooms are completely self-contained, and some, have balconies or terraces. We pride ourselves in our freshly-prepared organic health food, with home or locally-grown or produced organic produce (Eggs, goat’s milk and cheese, vegetables, sausages, salamis, etc). We offer traditional recipes prepared with a touch of artistic flair, as well as various specialties cooked in our traditional wood oven. And to accompany all this, our well-stocked cellar provides a wide selection of high quality sparkling wines and Oltrepo Pavese D.O.C.’s, all organically produced ‘real’ wines. From “Al Marnich” you are within easy reach of a vast number of tourist attractions, both in Italy and nearby Switzerland. To little Km from the Marnich, it is possible to practice the SKI during the winter season. For our guests, the Holiday Farm "Al-Marnich" it makes SKI available, Caving boots and Rackets to rent on demand.

We have 14 rooms with bathrooms, which 6, with fireplace. All rooms are completely self-contained, and some have balconies or terraces. You will find: 3 very cosy standard doubles rooms, 5 romantic and nice superior doubles rooms (perfect for a long stay) and 6 family rooms (2 adults + 2/3 childrens maximum). ADSL Internert Service in the rooms, hairdryer and room service: available on request. We have a large free parking also and a laundry service, always available on request.

Location Information

From “Al Marnich” you are within easy reach of a vast number of tourist attractions, both in Italy and nearby Switzerland. The Val d’Intelvi itself has a rich artistic heritage to explore, in addition to its natural beauty. Como Lake (8km) has lots to offer: it is famous for its magnificent villas, botanical gardens and romanesque churches. Do not miss Como, "Isola Comacina" (the only island on Lake of Como), and only a short boat-ride from there to Villa Balbianello , Villa Carlotta and its famous gardens, Lenno, Menaggio, Gravedona, Bellagio, Varenna to name but a few. A couple of hours by car can take you to St. Moritz, 45 minutes to the lakeside city of Lugano in Switzerland and approximately one hour to Milan. Or, once on the shores of Lake Como or Lugano, you can enjoy the various boat-trips either on the Hydrofoil ("Ali Scafo", in Italian language), or the more leisurely "Battello" . An alternative is the "Traghetto" (car ferry) which runs between Menaggio, Cadennabia, Bellagio, Varenna, enabling you to discover some of the other shores of Como Lake by car.
