Liked: The location is great.

Disliked: IF I have to be peeevish .. I didn't like the shower hours limit. You have to shower till 11pm. All in all it wasn't a big deal.

Liked: The hostel is very near the lake in the centre of the town and you have a lot of shops and cafes nearby. Also our room and the bathroom were very, very clean and the staff was friendly. We even had a balcony.

Disliked: There was no breakfast included but that was no problem, because there are many bars and cafes only some footsteps from the hostel. The best one is "Insalateria la vita é bella", where one gets very good panini and cappuccino and the owner is friendly. (Leaving the hostel just turn right.)

Liked: The whole area surrounding Lago di Como is amazing. In Riva al Lago Hotel's location is just perfect. The staff was very kind and helpfull. The breakfast was surprisingly rich.. actually it was better than in most of the 3 star hotels I've been to.

Disliked: The free parking places are very limited and have to be ordered in advance. However, even the 5 EUR per day payed parking is not that much, compared to other Italian cities.

Liked: location is perfect, rooms are quiet (good new windows) + AC, excellent large breakfast, staff is friendly and helpful, everything is very clean. definetely worth staying there. it's more than value for the money!

Disliked: only somethimg minor: reception is open just till 11 pm. afterwards you'll have to ring for the guy to come.

Liked: Everything about this room and location was fantastic. We loved it so much we went back and stayed their a second time. The staff were so friendly and helpful and always went out of their way to help us.

Liked: Really well located, couldn't be better!! Our room was a bit small but really nice and the guy responsible for the hostel was..one of the nicest i'v ever seen in an hostel!!

Disliked: Actually not much..I think...well..maybe we weren't lucky about the location of the toilets..but then again, this is a hostel so..nothin to say!

Liked: The secureness of the property and the directions given from the train station were absolutely spot on. As others have mentioned the breakfast buffet is excellent. Apparently they house foreign exchange students for the local university consequently there are a lot of folks participating in the breakfast buffet. Students are from all over the world. Bathrooms immaculate.

Liked: how big and clean the appartment of 6 people was.(rooms and bathroom).

Disliked: it was a 20' minute walk from como st giovanni station aand it is not mentioned that we could have taken a bus that leaves us in front of the hotel.

Liked: We love that it is right next to the lake and walking distance from the Duomo and all the lovely bars and restaurants... and the bus station. We could also park our hire car there easily which in Como is a bonus. The guy behind the desk is always helpful. The room we were in was very clean. We haven't tried to eat at the bar downstairs yet though. This was the second time we have stayed here and we will definitely be going back.
