The 'Borgo Scacciaventi' hostel is housed in an ancient XVI century monastery, and is within easy walking distance both from the town's historic center and the railway station.

The hostel is located inside a Franciscan convent built in the XVth century, in Cava de’ Tirreni historical center “Borgo Scacciaventi”, that gives it the name. Particularly picturesque is the cloister, surrounded by a portico which is a typical architectural element of the town.

Over the centuries the monastery has undergone a number of changes, but the cloister has kept its original design - its sequence of cross-vaults providing a series of bays in the porticoed walkway whose small vaults, were once decorated with frescos of episodes from the life of St. Francis.

The complex offers its guests comfortable accommodation in family rooms or rooms with more than one bed.

Famous tourist destinations such as Pompei, Herculaneum, Sorrento, Amalfi and Capri are all within easy reach.

Currently the complex is home to the Town Council's Art Gallery, and the garden and cloister are often used for concerts and plays.

A very hospitable building, with rooms with sloping roof (minimum 2 beds, maximum 8 beds), with collective toilets for each floor.
Our hostel is in the HI-AIG net, and is therefore open only to AIG and HI members (you can subscribe your membership at the arrive).
Check in is performed between 15:30 and the 22:00.
For the guests, the hostel is open 24 h (there is no time limitation for guests, nor closing daily).

The hostel is in the middle of several interesting tourist sites (the benedictine abbay of Cava, Vietri sul mare pottery museum, Monti Lattari Park, archaeological sites of Pompei and Ercolano, Ravello and his villas, the Paestum temples, the Cilento coast, the Diecimare WWF natural oasies, the city of Naples, the Vanvitelli aqueduct, the San Leucio site, the Caserta royal palace, the Padula chartreuse, the Pertosa’s caves, the Vesuvio volcano…)
