Our hostel is in a very strategic position: only 5 min. walk from both the train and the bus station, close to Via Etnea (main street for your shopping), the historic center, the fantastic Fiera (Largest open air market in Italy) and Bellini Theater are just around the corner.
Our building dates back to the 19th century and it is one of the most elegant in the city with an astonishing view of the Volcano Etna.
Walking in the city, you can see archeological digs and learn more about the previous ancient cities (Greeks, Romans..) underneath the actual city. Like most of Sicily, Catania is renowned for its beautiful Baroque city center, for its landscapes (seaside and Mt Etna), history (Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabians, Normans, Spanish, etc..) and of course the Mediterranean weather.
Catania is also the cradle of theater and music making it a great place to stay by day and by night. In the day, when the sun shines, the city's Baroque palaces, and their glistening black lava and white limestone dominate the view. When the evening comes, the clubs open and the squares fill up with people.
