Liked: the dogs

Disliked: i got bitten by bed bugs

Liked: Great location, in the middle of the Plaka, with many restaurants and shops around. Travel agency downstairs that helped us book our ferry to Santorini, also an outdoor bar and cafe that serves breakfast.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: nice welcoming entrance - canopy, bar, reception

Disliked: there seems to be a bed bug issue in this place. i stayed 2 nights and had no first hand experience but a fellow traveller in my room got bitten and killed/caught a suspicious bug.

Liked: It is a great place to relax. The dorms rooms are spacious and so are the bathrooms. There is a nice area outside to sit and relax. Also a pool but I didn't try it. Its not too hard to get in to town, just catch the bus from outside the hostel. The last bus from city is 11.30 but the taxi is only 10euro so if you share its not too bad. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Dinner was very nice.a

Disliked: Had a difficult time getting there when I first arrived, they say they will pick you up if you call but the phone wasn't working.7 euros but much for washing and they have signs saying you aren't allowed to wash in the bathrooms.

Liked: Absolutely nothing

Disliked: See through shower curtains meaning you have to wear bathers or see naked people if they don't. The mattress- if you can call it that, was a joke. There are dogs inside meaning it was dirty. Unhelpful staff. Bad location and terrible directions. Only stay here if you HAVE to

Liked: Staff were relaxed and were usually around, or they were in the pool. The dogs were cute. Not too many rules.

Disliked: It was quite far from anything, you had to either catch a bus, which was confusing, or walk to a water taxi, if you knew the way (which i did not the first time) Staff didnt give good directions.

Liked: Good atmosphere, staff and owner are very friendly.

Disliked: No kitchen and you cant bring food or drinks into the hostel. No hot water at the moment. There are two large dogs, which are lovely, but not good if your scared of dogs.

Liked: friendly place, the owner makes your stay enjoyable, because he's a happy man!! and if you want the host cooked lunch and dinner for you!, and there're huge locker in the dorms room

Disliked: They have 2 big dogs, so there's hair everywhere, but att least the dogs don't come in the room, so that's good! There's no key for the room, but still huge locker in the room!! no kitchen facilitie, but the host cooked for you at lunch and dinner if you wanted to for a lill add!! far away from the center, need the bus otherwise it's a 30 min walk

Liked: Carpe Diem is a good hostel and the staff is very friendly and everyone speaks English. Shuttle service is great when you arrive late even though the place is easy to reach by bus or even walking.

Disliked: If you do not like dogs, this may not be your place.

Liked: The location is good. it is located between city centre and the airport. The stuff speaks English. Relatively cheap.

Disliked: Quite dirty. The bathroom is awful. A lot of noise from the street.

Liked: Very cozy and home-like atmosphere. Sweet and helpfull staff. And there´s nothing better than sitting at the bar enjoying a cold beer after a long day of travelling

Disliked: It would be great if the kitchen were open for guests to cook their own meals. The continental breakfast is not that healthy :o)

Liked: The staff tried to make best of a bad situation.

Disliked: The atmosphere was awful, no other persons were staying at the hostel yet there were nearly half a dozen brand new cars. Three huge dogs roamed the hostel entrance, fine if you like dogs but frightening and intimidating if you are not a dog lover. These same dogs then proceeded to howl all night there by robbing us of any sleep before our morning flight.

Liked: Maurizio and the girls were very friendly, and fetched us from the airport, which was lovely.

Disliked: No towels, no loo paper, unpleasant bathrooms, shutters that did not close.

Liked: The pick-up service to and from the train station is a bonus, otherwise it's a 35 minute walk up a hill, down a hill, and up again.

Disliked: It didn't seem very clean, we were told on arrival that the cleaner hadn't been there yet and when we left two days later, things still looked the same. For example, the only waste bin in the bathroom was pretty full and stinking on the first day and just as full when we left, there was no toilet paper until we asked for it and the whole thing just didn't look as if it was cleaned regularly.

Liked: yes mauritzio the owner is a very nice guy, easygoing, good en relaxed place to start or end your holiday / stay from Brindisi and my kid of 7 was allowed without problem, but no discount since a bed was occupied so i understand.

Disliked: the message says kids 50% off but was not paid any attention to...

Liked: The people that ran it were friendly, let me charge my ipod with their charger and we had a laugh with them.

Disliked: My friend is scared of dogs and there were three massive dogs that couls just wander about. and i dont remember reading anything about that on the website.
