With an enviable location in a very beautiful part of Umbria, the property Poggio delle Civitelle is a charmingly restored Umbrian farmhouse dating from the 13th century with many original features including retaining the original walls and floor. The estate itself is located high in the hills near Bevagna, a well known tourist destination. It is not far from many of Umbria's most attractive towns, Assisi for example being just a short 15 minute drive. It is surrounded by woodland ideal for relaxing walks. There are remains of an ancient convent, "Monastero del Monte", known as "Monastero delle Civitelle" built in 1198. In this convent Benedectine nuns lived until 1555, after which the Cardinal Farnese destroyed it. There is also the most recent sanctuary, "Santuario Madonna della Valle” that they built in 1921. It is a destination that many pilgrims decide to visit every year as a place full of religious significance.

Located a short distance from Bevagna, the hotel is ideally situated to explore Umbria. Built from local stone, it offers double bedrooms, rooms with three or four beds, all with ensuite shower room. The bedrooms are located on the ground and first floor and are furnished in plain style. Typical Umbrian charm throughout. Some of them have the balcony or terrace with fresco dining facilities to enjoy the panorama. All bedrooms have fridge/freezer, Sat TV and telephone. A suite with superb views. All bedrooms share a 6mx12m swimming pool.

The two-roomed apartments for min. 1 person max 4 persons have a double bedroom with a separate shower room and a double sofa-bed. Comfortable seating for 4. The three-roomed apartments have two double bedrooms with a separate shower room.

The five wooden chalets are located in a private area of the estate, under secular oaks. They are surrounded by woodland ideal for relaxing walks. A great escape for those looking for something different, yet only 5 minute walk to the hotel, the apartments and the restaurant. An enchanting view on the Umbrian landscape. These charming chalets have a romantic feel, offering privacy and comfort in a wonderful relaxed Italian way. All chalets have Sat TV. Four of them have a double sofa bed, a bunk bed and a shower room. They are suitable for a family with two children. The only two-roomed chalet has a double bedroom, a bedroom with a bunk bed and a shower room. All chalets have patio with dining facilities.

Tastefully renovated restaurant with a large working fireplace. The original features contribute greatly to the original rustic atmosphere. Delicious home cooked Umbrian meals (extra virgin olive-oil, cheeses, vegetables, wines). There is also a pizzeria corner (on request).
