About Castagni d'Oro B&B
Outside, there is a sunny terrace with a table and chairs, ideal for al fresco dining or simply relaxing with a good book. There is also a lawned garden for sunbathing or enjoying a welcome cool drink under the shady trees, with a wonderful view across to the mountains.
After a quiet and restful night, Louise and Adrian will serve you a generous continental breakfast and a bottomless coffee or tea pot in the dining room or maybe outside on the terrace.
Children are welcome and we have a cot, highchair and fold-out beds available. Children up to 9 years can stay for free with reduced rates for older children.
Well-behaved pets will be considered, but we do have 2 elderly cats.
Smoking is only allowed outside the house, due to Italian law.
Parking is in our own driveway and there is a secure garage for motorbikes, cycles and ski equipment.
We can provide packed lunches and other meals on request, or guests can bring their own food and use our plates and cutlery.
We strive to be as flexible as possible with guests’ requirements, such as early or late arrivals or departures, keys to rooms and main door, and providing laundry and car-lift services. We speak some Italian and have lots of information regarding where to go and what to see.
Louise and Adrian hope to welcome you to their home very soon.
The two bright and airy non-smoking guestrooms have coffee and tea making facilities with biscuits, and have modern en-suite bathrooms, with showers, hair-dryers and complimentary toiletries.
The Blue room looks out over gardens to the village piazza and has a king-size bed that can be split into two singles, whilst the Red room has a standard double bed and has far reaching views over the valleys to the high mountains. The beds are firm and have crisp, white linen, all British.
We have a cot available and also two extra, fold-out beds for older children or extra guests at €15 each. There are tables and chairs in the rooms and adequate storage for clothes and cases.
Single occupancy is 45 euros per night.
Guests are welcome to join us in the sitting room where there is British TV and a warming log fire, lit all winter. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the house.

The hilltop village of Brandeglio is refreshingly peaceful, but is only 15 minutes from Bagni di Lucca and 40 minutes from Lucca. It is a quiet, secluded haven of peace after a busy day of maybe sightseeing in Florence or Pisa, swimming in the sea at Viareggio, or even skiing at Abetone, Tuscany’s premier ski resort.
The village is surrounded by panoramic views of rocky Mountains, lush, green tree-covered hillsides and deep, steep valleys with fast flowing rivers.
Walking is very popular and the surrounding woodlands and hills are fantastic walking country, with marked paths to follow, one starting just outside our house, with hidden treasures to discover such as waterfalls, ancient village ruins and hidden churches.
Mountain biking is very popular, with established routes and bike-hire is available at various centres.
Horse riding is available in Western and Classic riding styles at stables located at the bottom of our hill.
Swimmers are catered for with public swimming pools in Bagni di Lucca and nearby Borgo a Mozzano.
