Bed and Breakfast La Collina

The Bed & Breakfast La Collina is an enchanting stone cottage, typical of the traditional Tuscan countryside of 18th century. It is perched on a hill at the bottom of the Casentinesi Forest National Park, one of the largest in Europe.

The Bed & Breakfast La Collina has a stunning panoramic view of the valley below and faces the castle of Poppi, which is one of most well preserved in Tuscany.

We offer three double rooms with private bathroom, well appointed with Italian style and original furniture. The house offers a warm and snug common area with a large fireplace, where it is possible to stay in company of the other guests, or just to relax reading or watching TV.

An extensive natural park with ancient oak trees and numerous corners where you can drop into the peace of the countryside surrounds the building.

La Collina offers also three apartments restored with great attention to archetypal details and furniture according to Tuscan country life-style.

Il girasole is at the ground floor and has just been restructured; it consists of a small living room with fireplace, a kitchen, two bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with 2 single beds (sleeps 4), and a bathroom with shower. Tables and chairs for outdoor meals.

La margherita is a large apartment on the ground floor and has just been restructured; it consists of a wonderful living room with a divan bed and fireplace, a large kitchen, two bedrooms, one with a double bed and private bathroom, one with 2 single beds (sleeps 3+2), en-suite bathroom with shower. Tables and chairs for outdoor meals.

La rosa is a big apartment at the first floor it consists of a wonderful and characteristic living room with a big fireplace, the kitchen, 3 double rooms and one single room, three bathrooms with shower (sleeps 7). Tables and chairs for outdoor meals.

We would like to offer to those who desire something different to the usual holiday, a place where you will be received as a friend and where you will discover Italian hospitality at it’s best. Our desire is to turn your holiday into a good chance of improving your knowledge about Italy through discovering hills and lowlands, cities of art and natural parks, unique landscapes and impressive monuments, variety of traditions and customs and gastronomy or just learning a few words in the local language.

We can prepare for you a picnic bag for your excursion, discovering unspoilt nature, where it is still possible to swim in the clean clear mountain waters of the rivers, completely plunged into the natural landscape.

In the evening, at sunset, in the peace and stillness of the countryside, there’s the aperitif time with wine, cheese and special appetizers and then...at dinner sitting all together in a simple and friendly atmosphere, as is the Italian custom, chatting and tasting our specialties.
By request we organize special evenings with Tuscan food matched with traditional music and songs with the fisarmonica, barbecue around the fire, and food from the world and vegetarian.
