Liked: Atrani is a very small but very nice village right at the beach.

Liked: The place is much bigger than I had thought it would be. It's not hard to find because Atrani is a very small place and there are signs everywhere to point you in the right direction. I liked the fact that this was outside the touristy area and the beaches were empty but I could still get to other places if I really wanted to. Also, I left really early on my last day and I got a breakfast package on the go. The place is overall really clean. I didn't see any bugs or super dirty areas around the place. It was a simple place. Breakfast was also pretty good.

Disliked: The place is dingy at worst. The owners are really cheap and the building itself was built literally before Christ. Not much has changed since then besides some electricity and a little indoor plumbing. It would have been nice to have a common room to meet people and my own key to the room. My stuff was safe but I'm paranoid about things like this. Things could be a lot worse but those would be my suggestions.

Liked: Comfortable, cute, and quiet. Staff was friendly. Free breakfast and we even got a breakfast wrapped for us for the train when we left early.

Disliked: Pretty expensive and there is no common area.

Liked: It's in a great location, really close to the beach and away from the more touristy parts. The breakfast was great!

Disliked: No wifi or common area and no kitchen. Noise travels easily too so we got woken up fairly early by people in another room.

Liked: I like everything in the Scalinatella! It is running by two lovely brothers Felipo and Gabriele those ones that are extremely friendly and helpful! The Scalinatella has a brilliant location few meters walking from the Atrani beach and 10 min walking from Amalfi beach. It has included the breakfast that is well done by Felipo. The beds are well distributed in the rooms and it is very clean and organised! It was my second time at Scalinatella and I would recommend it without any hesitation!!!! Liked: Very good location to Altrani. Very friendly staff.

Disliked: Quite dark inside as there is no natural sunlight. Can be noisy if travelers are inconsiderate as the walls don't reach the ceiling.

Liked: Great staff (Felipo and Gabriel), really near to beach so access is super easy, free breakfast (which is NOT advertised so they should update this). Cheaper than Positano and had much better stay here as other travellers also did their research and stayed here. Really clean and laidback at same time.

Disliked: Atrani is really small so expect to only go to beach in Atrani or go to Amalfi or Ravello on daytrips. Some other guests did not realise that Felipo and our rooms do not close completely and so can hear EVERYTHING they do. No lockers but felt safe. WAS AWESOME stay.

Disliked: No internet at all in this hostel, whether it's free or not. The hostel manager told me that a cafe nearby has wifi, but the cafe's internet was not working. So that I had to walk 30 minutes round trip just to get an internet access to Amalfi city center, then i had to walk another 20 minutes looking for a public internet in Amalfi. This was the worst experience of my trip. There was only 1 power outlet in the room and someone was always using it. Their bathroom shower was incredibly old-fasioned and ugly. There are 45 steps at the staircase from the bus stop of Atrani to the ground level, on which the hostel is located, it was very miserable for someone with heavy luggage. This hostel's rooms are divided by screens disguised as walls that don't reach the ceiling all the way, so that several rooms shares the same ceiling, Thus, you can see when someone turn off the light in the adjuring room, likewise you can hear everything behind the walls. The reception was unmanned around 7am, so that i couldn't check out early and leave my luggage, and I had to delay my departure until someone shows up at the reception. The way to come from Amalfi to this hostel in Atrani is far much harder than they claim. The street has a very very limited space for pedestrians like 8" to 18" at most, and the street is winding, on the high cliff, cars are driving fast, it's too dangerous for anyone to walk on this street with any rolling luggage. Even a single person without a luggage barely has a space to walk next to cars on this Amalfi coast's skinny road. Also, the bus from Amalfi to Atrani runs about 2 buses per hour. (It means infrequent) Then, even though you got a bus, it is definitely not 2 minutes to get to the hostel. You have to go down 45 narrow steps to reach the street level before you start walking toward the hostel from the bus stop of Atrani. Then, there many more steps right before this hostel's entrance, and of course, there is no lift there. If I had known what i found out later, I would have never booked this hostel and paid 20~30 euro extra to stay in a normal 2 star hotel in the center of Amalfi, which would have saved all of misery I experienced with this hostel. My trying to save money here was a mistake.

Liked: Good location and value for money. Owners are friendly and helpful. Atrani is a great spot to stay and this place allows you to stay here on a budget.

Disliked: The twin room we stayed in lacked ventilation as there was no aircon, fan or window for fresh air. Although there isn't a great amount of character to the place, you won't be in the room much with the beautiful beach just a 2min walk away.

Liked: We mostly enjoyed our stay here. The location was great, the owners were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good.

Disliked: The only thing I didnt like isnt really a criticism of the hostel. The local church bells rang all night on the hour and sounded like they were right outside. Rather annoying.

Liked: The wonderful brothers who run the hostel are such great hosts. Even if the hostel was less than satisfactory I would have put up with it because of their genuine kindness. They were so nice to me that it made the stay 100% more enjoyable.. and their signature smiley face cappuccini always brightened my morning :)

Disliked: the showers in the bathrooms were kind of weird and incovenient, but whatever, it's italia...my friends had more problems with it than I did :)

Liked: excellent location. very friendly and helpful staff! great place to stay for the money!

Disliked: it would have been nice to have wifi in the hostel instead of the cafe next to it. and though they had a waching machine, it would have been nice to have a dryer. but the excellent location just about made up for it!

Liked: It was very close to the beach and a good value for the money. The staff was extremely nice and the breakfast was really good. The people of Atrani are very friendly and it is a perfect location to explore Amalfi from.

Disliked: The amenities were quite spartan, and the showers had no curtains or doors so the entire bathroom got soaked when you showered. And the room that I stayed in had no ceiling and was open to the outside. But what it lacked in amenities it made up for in friendliness and location.
