Liked: Great location with helpful friendly staff! beach really close and the square where there is all the nightlife. also walking distance to amalfi (but atrani much better). walk up to Ravello easy day and interesting, path close to hostel. great for meeting people.

Liked: The location was by far the biggest positive about the hostel. Also being an American with little Italian background it was very helpful that the staff spoke english. Its a great place, great people, and an awesome vaction.

Liked: The location is in the center of Atrani and the walk to Amalfi is very short. Breakfast is good. The price is great. You won't find anything cheaper on the Amalfi coast.

Liked: The host was very friendly, helpful and was very accommodating. Antrani is absolutely beautiful and we were sorry to leave. The hostel is behind the square so it is not noisy at night.

Liked: I liked the atmosphere of this hostel, because of its stuff, they were great! Really helpful and friendly. I recommend this place for people who rather stay in a small, beautiful and quiet place like Atrani. If you are looking for something else, you can easily get to Amalfi, only 10 minutes by walking and there are more people and restaurants. But I think it was the opposite for people I met, they came to stay to Atrani and this hostel from Amalfi. Everybody loved this peaceful place.

Liked: We were instantly offered a free room upgrade on arrival (one of our group of 4 couldn't go), just an example of the kind and genuine hospitality of the two friendly brothers running Scalinatella. Although most rooms are in a close cluster of thin-walls and ceilings (take earplugs!) tending to dampness, the hostel setting and atmosphere of the town makes up for it by far. Atrani is oozing with character; an authentic Southern Italian town where visitors fit into but do not alter the scene. A beautiful and intimate square forms the hub of the town, THE meeting place, and from there you can already see the waves on the beach just metres away luring you over to swim. With a lovely free breakfast served in the square, info on hikes and trips readily available from the helpful brothers, as well as easy accessibility to all day trip destinations, and only 10min walk from Amalfi town.. what more could you want!!!!

Liked: Amalfi is amazing and beautiful, and this hostel is just a great example of the authentic and traditional amalfi buildings. It's so old-school european that you feel like you are back in history. It's a great authentic mediterannean style place. The 2 brothers who run the place are genuinely kind people who have answers to any of your questions about anything in amalfi.

Liked: The owner, Filippo (or Phillipo??) is eccentric and really nice. The little town of Atrani is great, had heaps of fun there. Go on a hike in the mountains behind amalfi, its great. The only thing wrong with this hostel is that it is very damp, but i think everywhere in Atrani is like that. Its ok, just don't expect clothes to dry while you're there
