Liked: We stayed at the bungalow on the rooftop, which was really a storage room converted bungalow with no windows but we had absolutely no problem with it because it was our own space and on the rooftop which had amazing view. Breakfast is not included, but the location of the hostel is just minutes away from all the bagel shops in the Jewish quarter. Lots of travelers filter in and out each night, maybe we went at a good time of the year because there weren't many people sleeping on the rooftops yet but I can see it being a fun experience to do so when it's warmer!

Liked: There are some good elements to this place (location being excellent) but it is totally outweighed by the ineptitude of the staff. The fella on the desk during the daylight hours was next to useless. Constantly he had no idea what was going on and when we mentioned our booking to him, he just shrugged. Eventually he found our booking but he had already given away one of our booked beds. So, he pulled out a mattress and said ones of us could sleep there for the same price. When we complained he said it is a normal bed and if we didn’t want it, we can go find somewhere else. As it was Easter we had no choice to accept but pretty awful! We had to pay the full price (£20 a night as it was Easter) and for a 12 bed dorm that squeezed in another 2 ‘beds’ in because of the Easter demand it was pretty horrendous. On top of everything else, our 10% we paid as a deposit was not taken off our final price, despite mentioning we had paid 10%!The place is clean but it seems they are more interested in making money than caring about guests. Everywhere there were signs stating how we could rent all these amenities (if you had a rooftop mattress you could ‘hire’ a pillow and sleeping bag, and if you did the price didn’t put you far off what you’d pay for dorm room!) and undertake tours (which were outrageously priced for a hostel!) but just couldn’t care less if any of the guests had a problem. However, to be fair some of the staff were good and caring but it was the day staff who mainly were rude and inconsiderate. I would never recommend this place to anyone again. Try elsewhere in Jerusalem.

Liked: Best hostel on my journey to Jerusalem, Amazing view from the roof top. Great atomsphere, good place to stay, very cheap for service.

Liked: The location is great, just inside Jaffa gate and central for the old town and the staff were helpful and friendly. The hostel has a great set up with the roof terrace and the cave lounge rooms, althought this was spoilt as when we were staying there they were trying to cram as many people onto the roof to sleep so the roof was not available to sit in the evening to enjoy the view, same for the cave lounge. Bathrooms were not always clean and because of the amount of people sleeping on the roof the hostel was very noisy and hard to sleep at times. Overall I would stay here again because of the location and maybe at not such a busy time of year.

Liked: The best is location, and dont miss after reservation to contact Hostel and ask for a room with a window!!! Also, bring copy of your reservation just in case while paying... :))

Liked: nice hostel with Jerusalem atmosphere: rooms downstairs in "cave" style, no fresh air though (no windows to the outside). kitchens a bit dirty and small. very good location in the middle of old jerusalem, in a quiet corner.

Liked: The location is really good, the view is amazing. I know it's an old building, but it's way to cold inside the room, the walls are moldy and the rooms are wet, so that our clothes were always dampish. However, the cost-performance ratio is good and also is the atmosphere.

Liked: The cave-like structure of the hostel gave it charm and made it feel like an "authentic" experience in the holy land. It's a 500 yr old building and it feels like it because of the low rock ceilings. Also, met lots of really cool and fun people from all over hte world and all age groups.

Liked: The hostel is located in the heart of the Old City of Jerusalem, a very short distance away from the main Christian, Jewish and Muslim holy sites. The hostel is also within easy walking distance of the new city of West Jerusalem. Our room (private double ensuite) was very clean and had all the facilities we needed. The common room is very friendly and is a good place to meet people. The staff did seem somewhat unhelpful at times, but they were far from unfriendly.The hostel is well located, clean and vibrant. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap place to stay in Jerusalem. The rooftop views are more than worth the price of the room!

Liked: Only the view. But the staff is terrible. We had reserved a twin room, and when we arrived we saw a couple bed. The staff instead of change my room told me that the bad "was a big size bed and not a small one" or i probably could check for another expensive hostel ... If you're planning to go to Jerusalem please look for a better place!
