joshua coopermanVery convenient location about 10 minute walk to Herod's Gate in the old city. Rooms are simple but clean. In Wadi el Josz area of east Jerusalem which is adjacent to old city. Simple but clean rooms; very accomodating staff. Adequate breakfast, including eggs and pancakes, plus usual Israeli items. Owned and managed directly by local Arab family, which is very friendly and helpful. If reasonable price and good location is desired, this fits the bill; if you want fancy digs, this is not your place. |

Customer reviewThe staff was very helpful and for the price even though the location was not the best it was well worth it. They also allowed me to stay over in the rppmfor part of the day for no cost: had a late plane. They also had a good breqakfast and free internet. |

Nichola James-WallaceOn the plus side - All staff looked after us very well. We loved them. They where very helpful, gave good advice, gave us good breakfast, gave us everything we asked for. There was a rooftop which was enjoyable. Parking in quiet street and easy access to road out of Jerusalem. On the negartive side - Rather long, hot and hilly walk through grimy streets to old city and mosque loud hailer 100m away. Don't expect to have a sleepin. |

David EdwardsThe staff were absolutley fantastic with offering advice on where to go and how to get there, they even came and found us when we got lost in the city. The hotel is located a short walk from the old city, Although the place isnt the most modern it does have character and had a funny way of making me smile.. espeicially the lift, it was like a scene out of a 1960's James Bond Movie! |

Christina ThiedeThere is a tower right next to the hostel from wich a speaker sends very loud prayers during the day and twice a night. Very step walk to the old city. No balcony. Towels and sheeds not clean. Nice breakfast, so. Did not get my deposit back, so far.... |

Customer reviewAlcazar is a very nice hostel, with very friendly staff. Breakfast is very good, the rooms are fine and quite clean. I didn't like the neighbourhood, I didn't feel safe there. And every night af four we woke up because of the minaret next to the hospital. |

David MaddicottWe liked the Alcazar mainly because of the helpful Manager, Yusuf, and his team. We also think it was good value for the money, especially by comparison with other accommodation available. It is about 20 mins walk from the Old City and so pretty well located. One word of warning -don't eat too much at dinner because they give a sumptuous breakfast! |

Paul WimpeneyIt offers exceptional hospitality from all members of staff. Wearrived at about 7 am after an overnight flight and we were given breakfast and allowed access to our room to sleep, hours before we were officially meant to arrive! We were offered coffee, mint tea, fruit and friendly conversation as required. Free internet access was very useful for us in helping us plan an itinerary. Herod's Gate is within ten minutes walk. Excellent value. We will be back. |

Kevin PalmerThis place is a real gem. We had a fantastic room, clean and very comfortable. 15 mins from the Old City, easily walkable. Great breakfasts, lovely roof terrace. Genuinely friendly and personal service - the team put the staff of some five star glass'n'chrome chains to shame - and quite simply unbelievable value for money. Brilliant. |
