the idea of making a hostel of a castle is realy nice

full of character, different!

I loved the ambience, the relaxed nature of the place, the amazing surrounding coutryside, the history. Although it is on the outskirts of Kilkenny a cab ride was only 20 euro which is cheap when divided among friends. It was just so fantastic to stay in such a beautiful building on such a small budget. Thanks to Jack for making our weekend extra special.

to sleep in a "castle" and the atmosphere

It was a castle! How amazing is that to stay in. Worth everything. Hard to get to without a car though but not impossible.

just fun staying at a hostel

If you want to stay in an Ireland castle and don't want to shell out hundreds of bucks, this is the place for you. The walls surrounding the castle are intact with a grassy area for playing sports, picnicing, and hanging out. Make sure to bring your groceries as no pub or supermarket is nearby. We appreciated being able to throw in a load of laundry midway through our trip. Thanks for a memorable experience.

The atmosphere was amazing - located in an old castle, made all the more interesting by a round of candle-lit ghost stories.

It was amazing! You get to stay in a castle! The owner of the castle was very friendly and talked to us for an hour while we were making/eating dinner. It was very much worth the drive outside of Kilkenny. Just make sure you have a car!

I loved everything about this place! It is quite simple the best place to stay in all of ireland! Its a great price, friendly people, and awesome accomodations. Its a bit hard to get to if you dont have your own car, but its worth it totally.

It's a castle. That's cool. But seriously, the showers were freezing and the bathroom was literally in a trailer stacked on top of another trailer sitting outside the castle, so it was freezing too. It was awful. I went the day without showering.

Amazing experience at this hostel. It is quite far from Kilkenny, but you'll be staying in a castle so who cares. Just stock up on food and booze before you get there and you'll be entertained. Jack, the man of the castle is very nice and full of great stories.

Castle. Jack. Location was further from the city, but it really doesn't matter once you seen where you're staying. Bonfire was great between the 8 of us.

ITS A CASTLE!!! Jack the owner is a great bloke too. Very cosy and good to meet the few other people who were there in winter with us.

It was a castle, which was neat.

Beautiful, old Norman castle, toasty warm, dog on premises (gorgeous), we practically had the place to ourselves.

Jack is a fantastic gentleman, always up for conversation. The hostel is a castle. The hostel is a castle. That needed to be said twice.

Jack, the proprietor was a very friendly, wonderful man who was extremely helpful. The kitchen was huge and had everything we needed to cook with, the rooms were wonderful and clean. There was also a ton of space to hang out in and the Castle was beautiful. The grounds and area were absolutely gorgeous. I would love to stay there again.

It's an old castle, so that in itself is exciting. Easy parking. Cold have been a bit cleaner, but...it's an old castle.
