Liked: This is my second stay here in 2 months. The location is perfect! Right next to the bus/train station, Eyre Square, lots of shops and great pubs! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the facility is kept up well, and I felt very comfortable all throughout my stay. Anyone staying in Galway should stay at the Galway City Hostel!

Disliked: There was nothing that I disliked about the facility.

Liked: The staff were fantastic. Very helpful and friendly.

Disliked: Cleanliness. There was mold on the walls in the bedroom, mold in the shower, and the fact that the showers and toilets were down a flight of stairs past reception and the kitchen is uncomfortable and annoying. Only 3 showers and 2 toilets for all the girls - I had to wait to use the toilet twice in my 1 day stay. Cages under the beds that were designed to hold suitcases - many were broken so we had no place t put our stuff at all but in the middle of the room. This place needs some serious renovations.

Liked: staff were friendly. Its right next to the station so in that sense the location is good but it's also next to really noisy pubs

Disliked: i got hardly any sleep. The hostel was next door to a pub that had a disco. The beds were really crammed in the room. I am used to hostels but this was pushing it. The windows were too small in the dorm and because they opened out on the the smoking area of the hostel they were very rarely opened so the room was really stuffy and there was lots of condensation on the windows. They changed the price on me, when i arrived they said it had gone up and i had to pay more than the amount reserved on hostel bookers. not cool.

Liked: the best thing is that the hostel is located near bus station and city centre, so it's easy to find it for those who are visiting the city for the first time. the staff is also very helpful and easy going.

Disliked: the fridge might be bigger as food of all the people who are staying there hardly fits in it.

Liked: There were computers available and wifi for free. There was a kitchen and breakfast in the morning.

Disliked: There very many female washrooms.

Liked: Right next to bus station, cool music gave a nice atmosphere, free internet, DVDs, bright and friendly kitchen/eating area, secure, not too many stairs!

Disliked: No comfortable seats in common area, not enough toilets/showers, bit noisy at night from pub next door

Liked: Really great location—right next door to the bus station and right down the road from the main pedestrian area in Galway. Also, really friendly staff and certainly very knowledgeable. Didn't have my technologies with me but others in the party said the WiFi worked from the rooms, plus there were free public-use computers there with Internet accessibility.

Disliked: Frustrating to have to walk to a different floor to use the bathroom just because the bathrooms are separated out for gender . . . Also, could've probably been a bit cleaner, but it was cheap so it was worth it.

Liked: - Easier than average to meet other people, generally a good atmosphere - Spacious securable lockers underneath the beds. My bag is huge but it still fitted easily! - Staff are helpful and conscientious. Someone in my room had used the wrong bed causing confusion at 1am but the staff sorted out without getting everyone up!

Disliked: - Kitchen and communal area smaller than average - I didn't notice the bar that's supposed to be attached to the bottom? lol - Bathroom facilties aren't adjacent to all rooms and are slightly below average.

Liked: Location the only positive, close to city centre and train/bus station, oh and the staff are nice and helpful.

Disliked: Dirty, cramped, no where to lock your valuables in the room, had options at reception though. I used my sleeping sheet as the matresses and donnas were not as clean as I would of liked. For the whole hostel. 3 levels of rooms for males and females there is only 2 toilets each and 3 showers each! I couldn't Believe it, and they are dirty.

Liked: Great location, breakfast included, 2 free computers to use.

Disliked: The first man at reception was not helpful at all and totally seemed like he hated his job. Being that I was traveling alone its important for me that the people working are helpful and knowledgeable, he was neither. The other guys working there seemed friendly enough and other than this I enjoyed my stay there.

Liked: Very well located, very helpful staff. Great breakfast. All around great!

Disliked: No lockers for our backpacks. Very frustrating before our trip to Aran Islands. We had to put them on the ferry and then at the bike at the islands. Would of prefered to leave them at hostel in a safe place. The showers were all open and the bathroom was only male. (very awkward at night when a gentleman is peing and your trying to shower without anyone seing anyone's body.

Liked: The location was great - seconds away from the train station and minutes from the centre of Galway. It had a nice cosy feel to the place.

Disliked: A bit noisy at night, as it is above a pub.

Liked: great place to put bags while your out for the day and staff was very helpful

Disliked: the location was a little out of the way but other than that it was a great place to stay

Liked: The location was good, it was the cheapest hostel in town, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Disliked: It's a narrow, vertical property so if you have a lot of luggage it's super hard to get it up to your room. Also, the bathrooms were too small and not well marked.

Disliked: bathrooms can be a few flights of stairs away depending on where the room is, also there was no relaxing/tv/games room.

Liked: Directly across from train station! Not right inside the busy area but it's small enough that the walk is easy. Great suggestions for stuff to do from staff.

Disliked: Not much. It's very basic but gets the job done. (bathrooms are on different floors for girls/guys so depending on your room you may have to go up/downstairs but didn't bother me too much)
