Liked: I like the atmosphere and staff friendleness is absolutely fantastic. The location is also very easy to find and in the heart of the city with so reasonable price, which is i think it makes the hostel's value more. My personnel rating for this hostel is 4.8 out of 5.

Disliked: Nothing as such.

Liked: The staff at Woodquay hostel were unbelievably friendly and were always willing to help out in anyway they could. They understood that different groups had different needs, and knew that as a group of students, we might be out quite late! There was no problem with us coming home at a very late hour and the staff were still there to help us out and let us in at that time - no curfew! The hostel was very clean and the showers were amazing.

Disliked: There wasn't much we could dislike about the hostel.

Disliked: More an older generation staying in the hostel, so not a great place to meet younger people and go out

Liked: Good location, relatively cheap for galway.

Disliked: door lock didn't always work, seems like the owners and staff are fed up with the hostel, might've been the fact that it was September though.

Disliked: they need to do something about the toilets - none of the seats remained raised (they fall back down after trying to raise), leading to many obvious "accidents" one could see after a man went to the restroom and didn't take care.

Liked: beds were confortable & linen clean

Disliked: seemed a bit sketchy - night manager came into room a couple of times at night (after midnight) i think he knew someone in the room, but was still strange & made one of the other guests angry & they had an argument when everyone was trying to sleep. no lockers in the room, and it didn't feel safe to leave belongings as lots of people seemed to have access to the room. unable to adjust temp in shower. staff not very helpful - no info offered

Liked: The landlady was really nice and made us all feel as if we were at home. Lovely house and atmosphere.. very clean and cosy.

Disliked: The only problem I thought was related to security. i entered many times without being noticed by anyone as there was no one at the reception. Also a drunk guy entered at night with his friends and went straight up to my bedroom and slept in the bed of a girl that was sharing the room with me and her boyfriend. When she went to sleep, she had to go somewhere else instead.. and this guy hadnt made any reservations or anything, he just turned up drunk with this friends who had a reservation and decided to stay too.

Liked: This hostel is well located, only minutes from the bus station, Eyre Square & main street. Quiet Area. Seems like a family business, helpful staff. Very clean ! Lots of showers/toilets...

Disliked: Slighlty cold, and lack of hot water for the showers ( either in private dorm or shared bathrooms), lukewarm water is fine for me so i didnt suffer much tho !
