Liked: In previous existance before modernisation, it always was a good place to stay -despite often cold showers, and not the greatest security. Now the same friendly helpful management - but a fully refurbished building with the very best of facilities . More like a modern hotel. Incorporated in the new wing is a riverside fine bar /bistro restauant. It even has an impressive new footbridge to it, crossing the river direct from the public car park. Only marked it down one point as a 'fun place' as only stayed briefly - it was not very busy, so didn't really meet others. Ennis is a great little town - especially for bars with traditional music sessions..Very pretty,compact and 'walkable' All highly recommended.

Liked: excellent hostel, i'd even go as far as saying the best i've been to. am actually writing this comment from their free internet. so clean, and the best facilities offered with kind helpful staff. the best value for money i have experienced yet would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone and would definitely stay here again

Liked: Beautiful location, overlooking the river, next to the abbey and within easy walking distance of the town. Lovely communal rooms including dining and TV rooms. Free internet terminal. The kitchen is very spacious, although it is industrial and not characterful like the dining room. Very spacious dorm rooms and shared bathrooms, although again these areas are nothing like as characterful as some of the communal rooms.

Liked: Rowan Tree Hostel is definitely the best budget accommodation in Ireland. The location in Ennis is not only the best in Ennis but also the best in Clare. The recent refurbishment and extension to the original building puts it puts it in the top bracket for luxury accommodation.

Liked: Staff very friendly and helpful, Everything was new and clean. Very secure ans safe feeling. Godd location for several day trips to sites. A wonderful experience all round. Big bathrooms. Very warm and cozy feeling from Staff and patrons. I would recommend this location very highly.
