Disliked: very noisy from the Dart, no curtain on the window. someone opened the window and the noise was worse and it was cold. he refused to close it and even when the staf closed it he opened it again

Liked: there was a big group of us and the staff offered us 2 private rooms for some of us which was nice. The room was nice and cosy with a table and couches. however it was extremely cheap and overall it was worth it. Lastly the staffs were generally friendly and helpful.

Disliked: The shower inside the room got too hot to have a shower and always flooded. the shared showers and toilets were not good at all. some people that stayed there looked like junkies and in general the atmosphere was quite dark. we were in a group so that didnt affect us at all but definately not recommemded if you are going there alone

Liked: The location was excellent. There was a kitchen we could use. One of the employees was quite helpful and nice. It was really cheap. Free wifi that worked so-so in the room. Free luggage storage.

Disliked: Like everyone has said, this hostel is absolutely filthy. You feel like you can't touch anything without getting a disease. Black mold is everywhere...the floors seem to be caving in...the shower water is cold for like 20 min before it finally heats up. The main bathroom for the first floor reeks and is very awkward to use. I had to get new toilet paper for all 3 toilets...as if I was working there. A couple of the employees are not helpful/are really strange and act confused/annoyed when you say you'd like to stay there. There seemed to be a lot of older men staying there...and I think one of them tried to come into our unlocked bedroom but left quickly when he saw us.

Liked: I loved the atmosphere of this property. Everyone treated the other guests like family. It was a great place to stay and I loved being there.

Disliked: I disliked that I had to leave so soon, the people I met there were great and I am glad I stayed in this hostel.

Liked: The property was very close to the center.

Disliked: the facilites and the bathrooms were dirty and the quality is quite poor. Only two showers in the hostel. The dishes in the kitchen are dirty. People who work there are not organized at all ! I had to go to another bedroom because they didn't realise they accepted two other people in the same bedroom as mine while there wasn't anymore bed for them !!! Anyway this is an old building which needs to be renovated.

Liked: Location near to the city centre, convenient. Staffs were friendly and helpful.

Disliked: When we took shower, the water supply will turn off automatically for few seconds, then came back again, repeatedly. The shower was difficult to turn off too.

Liked: The staff was very friendly.

Disliked: I have never seen anything as dirty as this hostel in my life. It is clear that one cannot expect too much from a 8-9pound/per night accommodation, however cleanliness is essential. When we arrived, our group had to split up into two rooms. The room I was given with my boyfriend was full of empty or half-empty bottles and food, even though all the doors in the hostel state that no food or drink should be consumed in the rooms. The noise factor was also very negative, as this accommodation is located directly next to a train track (and the trains pass it by every few minutes). The kitchen, showers and the bathrooms were a horror. First of all, the showers didn't have a separate door, but only a curtain so that everybody could just walk in on somebody else showering. Mostly there was no toilet paper in the toilets and the toilets themselves were really dirty and disgusting. There was no soap for washing your hands. The kitchen was dirty and the fridge was full of food without any packaging, etc. Of course, this hostel is supposed to be a self-catering place, but that doesn't mean that staff should not make sure it is clean. However, staff did not really care about things like this. It is true that at least the bathrooms were cleaned once a day, but cleanliness was not at all supported by staff. Signs on doors are not very helpful if staff does not say anything against people who don't keep to the rules. The second room we got was ok, even though there was a Chinese guy with us who should have been in another room. It is questionable why staff does not make sure that visitors really get the rooms they were assigned to. Overall, this was a very bad experience for me and my friends and we were all sure at the end that we would never go back to a hostel like that. From now on, I will rather pay more, but also enjoy better quality. A holiday with worries about bacteria is no fun.

Liked: The Hostel was Perfect for my stay, Nice people, very friendly staff and above all a Good kitchen to cook in!!! My stay was one of the best I had in Ireland and I would reccomend this hostel to anyone who will stay after me! Thanks guys, next year again!!!!!!!

Liked: Cheap and great location.

Disliked: Cleanliness and staff customer service wasn't the best but character, atmosphere and value made up for it. A great melting pot of cultures and ages - I definitely plan on going back.

Liked: Cheap as you like. We were on a stag do so only needed a few hours rest a night. Perfect for that. Staff were also very nice.

Disliked: Untidy and dirty. Close to the rail bridge so you on't be sleeping past 06:30!

Disliked: The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting and the staff is not friendly. Most of the people that stay here are not college aged student, but adults from the area.

Liked: nothing- the sign on the reception counter that said 'no refunds' should have been warning enough not to hand over any money in the first place.

Disliked: The toilets/showers made me retch from the stench. The kitchen smelt like rats lived in it. The floors in every room were sticky. It should be shut down seriously- It really is criminal that they actually charge people to stay there. I don't think it meets any standards of hygiene.
