The people working there are really lovely and caring. They love what they do! Any problem? Just tell and they try to solve it. Due to the building they are still building but its improving more and more. Very nice…

Overview

A friendly tourist hostel situated at the gateway to the Boyne valley in the Medieval town of Drogheda, Ireland.

Situated in the historic town of Drogheda at the edge of the Boyne Valley, the hostel is ideally placed for those interested in avoiding the hustle and bustle of Dublin and sampling the charm of real Ireland.
Only three minutes walk from the railway station and only ten minutes walk from the bus station where buses run regularly to one of the most important archaeological sites in Europe - Brú na Bóinne with the burial chambers of Newgrange (1000 years older than the pyramids of Egypt) and Knowth
Other places of interest would be the monastery of Mellifont (site where the old Gaelic order of Ireland essentially ended) along with Monasterboice and Kells where some of the finest examples of Irish Christian High Crosses
Also the buses go to the many fine beaches in the area and some of the smaller fishing ports for the angling enthusiast.

The Hostel has got rooms which will cater for all budgets from large dormitories to double en-suite rooms, with piping hot water, laundry facilities, television room and self catering facilities with the most helpful and friendly staff you could find anywhere in the world.

It should be noted that our friendly staff only operate reception between 09:00 and 21:00.
If you plan on arriving outside of these hours please let them know beforehand so they can make alternative arrangements for check-in.

Location Information

We are easy to find. If coming by bus the 101 stops right outside our door!! Look out for the yellow spiral snake!! From the train station turn right into town and you will see us on the left hand side after about 300 meters.
The Drogheda area has been inhabited for at least the last five thousand years. Within the town we have the tomb of Amergin, 5000yrs old. St Laurances Gate one of the best examples of a medieval gate still in use anywhere in Europe. St Olivers head, be sure to check out the shaving ceremony every morning at 07.30 mass.
Of course no trip to Drogheda is complete without visiting Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth. These are the
