Aille River Hostel

The Aille River Hostel is a 300 year old renovated cottage situated on a quiet road beside the Aille River and the gateway to the majestic 700 ft high Cliffs of Moher, the world famous Aran Islands and the unique Burren landscape, home to thousands of rare wild flowers and archeological Celtic sites.Right in the centre of Doolin where Traditional music sessions can be heard every evening.

This 300 year old renovated cottage is situated on a quiet road beside the Aille River, in the centre of Doolin. A perfect spot for your stop over or extended stay in the area. You will experience a warm friendly atmosphere in our old world surroundings. Visit the sights of Clare or just chill out by the river during the day, then relax by the turf fire or check out the local pubs in the evening.

Hostel facilities and price include fully stocked self-catering kitchen with free tea, free hot showers (24 hours), free towels and linen, free laundry, including washing powder. Free internet access with wi-fi. Free maps and tourist info, free safety lockers, free parking, Bike hire available at €7.00.
Breakfast for a small fee. We encourage traditional music sessions and many musicians stop over with us regularly. Live music can be heard or played in the local pubs McDermotts, McGanns and O'Connors only 5 minutes walk away.

The hostel provides clean, comfortable dormitory rooms for 4, 6, 8 persons. We also have family rooms en-suite and private rooms for couples -
Camping is also provided with full use of hostel facilities. No lock outs or curfews.

Hostel staff will be happy to inform you of local sights and activities including: Aillwee Caves, Burren Heritage Centre, Cliffs of Moher, Doolin Cave, castles, forts, Celtic ruins, golf, hiking, rock climbing, Poulnabrone Dolmen, surfing, fishing spots, trips to Aran Islands, bus and travel information.

We are located on opposite side of river from Fitzpatrick’s bar just off the main road.
Cross the old stone bridge to reach us.
All bus will stop outside Fitzpatrick’s bar if you tell the driver you are staying at the Aille River Hostel.

You can easily reach the cliffs of Moher and Burren by foot, bicycle or car from the hostel.
The pier where you catch boats to the Aran Islands is a 20 min walk through the lower village from here.

Local pubs O'conners, Mcganns Fitzpatrick’s and McDermots all within 5 mins walk where you can here excellent live music and the shops are in this vicinity too.
