Disliked: Drinks were too expensive but other than that excellent service when asking for places to visit and information about transport.

Liked: The room and shower/toilets were very clean, staff members extremely helpful

Disliked: The water in the shower was very hot, and no way to adjust it!

Liked: Nice place to stay. Very nice barbeque area and balcony on top of the hostel. Very friendly owners and employees. Kitchen works well with everything you need.

Disliked: Bad weekend with 9 people in 8 beds room and people fighting about the beds. One of the bedrooms were very bad smelling of damp damage.

Liked: It's very central, cheap and a good athmosphere.

Disliked: Their policy with the 'white slips' for getting back in after 11. If you lose the slip you sleep on the streets, even though they can surely check your ID against a booking. I found the day staff to be lovely, but the nighttime staff can be very ignorant - all due to the 'white slips' rule.

Disliked: Free Breakfast would be good! 3 euros isnt cheap and the breakfast was pretty average and possible the worst coffee i have ever had! if you are going to charge a few improvements would help

Liked: The staff was incredibly helpful and very informative. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, and there was a kitchen to make your own food!

Disliked: It was difficult getting to the hostel by car due to steep hills and one way streets and the parking in front of the hostel was impractical, but that's hardly the hostel's fault.

Liked: I liked the convenient location-we were able to walk everywhere in Cork from Sheila's . I also liked the option for an ensuite bathroom. We had originally booked a 14 person room with an ensuite, but were upgraded to a 6 person room with an ensuite at no extra charge. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. They have a book exchange going too, which I liked.

Disliked: There was very little that I disliked. It would have been nice to have breakfast included, but it was available for purchase.

Liked: cheap, no frills, you get a clean, comfy bed in a room. Nothing special but the price is right!

Disliked: nothing really but I wasn't the lap of luxury either but you get what you pay for.

Liked: Easy to get to, close to bus station and signposted!! Staff were extremely friendly, very helpful. Rooms were pretty small, but room to put your stuff.

Liked: The property was in a good location about 5 minutes walk from the city center, and one of the staff members was extremely helpful, gave us all the info that we needed to make the best out of our trip.

Disliked: The bathrooms were a little bit dirty, and there were stains on the blankets, which was not appreciated. Also, we had a bit of a problem with the cleaning staff in which they came in and moved our personal items around and threw away a train ticket of one of the people that was staying with us and would then not reimburse them for the money they had end up costing them, a bit unprofessional.

Liked: The staff was very helpful and friendly. The beds were clean and the ensuite bathroom the second night was as well.

Disliked: The whole place is in some places falling apart a bit. It could use a handyman. Also there could be more general toilets and bathrooms.

Liked: Bathrooms are outside the rooms, in the floors there is just a very small washroom, the shower room is in de ground floor, probably not big enaugth and a little bit old.In the other hand the rooms are very clean, and for me this is the most important thing.The staff is helpfuly and friendly, and the price is good.I recomed you this hostel, not the best ever but is quite good.

Disliked: the wifi didn't work, and the warning in the kitchen is a bit scary "you have to wash your dishes, and if you don't, as we are filming the kitchen, we will know it is you and we might ask you to leave the hostel" (!!!)

Liked: The hostel was big and had a nice kitchen - we cooked in two nights in a row so a kitchen was important. The girl who worked the desk was incredibly helpful and nice. She gave us a 10 minute talk on all the sites to see in and around Cork and what she recommended.

Disliked: It is an old school hostel with packed, small rooms and questionably clean bathrooms. The location isn't great considering where the action is in Cork.

Liked: Overall this is probably one of the worst hostels I've been in. Staff are outright rude, entirely unwilling to help with anything or even show basic courtesy. Beds all squeak such that anytime anyone in the room turns over the entire room is liable to be woken up. Internet is heavily censored, including a lot of things which make next to no sense (texts from last night, notably). Alcohol is banned.The whole persona of the establishment just seems extremely uptight and self-righteous, something which is uncommon and jarringly unpleasant in a backpackers hostel. Cannot recommend strongly enough avoiding this place.

Liked: Everything. Good security provided when asked for (lockers with deposit), free wifi, various communal areas to relax.

Disliked: Nothing at all. just be prepared ofr a steepish uphill walk from the centre of town, but it's a nice view also!
