Liked: it's like some one's house. very calm and the room is clean and they have a laundry service for free.

Disliked: near to the air port. but really really far from the enter of the city. by bus it takes 1.5h or 2 h with 1 change of bus. it is good just for transit in surabaya, because it7s near to the airport. to go to railway station they ca bring you there by motor for cheap fee.

Liked: It was a lovely place to stay. Breakfast is included and you have a choice of toast, fruit and when the owner was there she made some typical Indonesian breakfasts also which were lovely. You also get unlimted drinking water, tea and coffee. The staff are also lovely and helpful especially Anang. He helped me organise my trip to Mt Bromo and also came along and took us to all the best places. It is also very clean, i would definately recommend it to anyone.

Disliked: Not really a dislike but it wasn't very central but you can get to the centre pretty cheaply.

Liked: Very friendly homestay. Airport pick-up is good value and quick - we underestimated just how big Surabaya is and how long it takes to get from place to place, for example to the bus station, so staying a little way out of the city was a great option. Free drinks were great. Hostel was very clean and homely, staff were extremely helpful with general information and co-ordinating onward transport (we went to Bromo and the train station).

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: The place is clean and offer breakfast....cold and hot water, tea, coffee and snack all day...the owner is friendly and helpfully for the travel information.....

Disliked: The bed is indinesian style but I could sleep well in this bed style. The hostel is rather far from the central of the town...

Liked: THE HOSTEL IS NEAR THE AIRPORT. THERE ARE SOME SMALL RESTAURANTS NEAR THE HOSTEL. THE OWNER IS VERY NICE. REMEMBER TO ASK FOR THE PICK UP SERVICE FROM AIRPORT BY LITTLE EXTRA CHARGE

Liked: The owner is very friendly and helpful. Nice to talk with her. Price is pretty fair. The only I dislike from this place is its location which quite far from the center town.

Liked: This is a new hostel and the lady who owns it, Dyana, is very kind and helpful however is still learning about the business of running a hostel. We arrived on our first night after a long taxi ride from the train station to find that we could not get into the hostel as there apeared to be nobody home. (It is a converted house/homestay type accomodation) A neighbour came out and tried to call Dyana but there was no answer. We ended up staying at a hotel recommended by the neighbour. The next morning we woke to find a letter had been posted under our door at the hotel. It was Dyana pleading her apologies for not being around to welcome us to her new hostel. She had fallen asleep! (However we did arrive quite late) She was waiting for us in the lobby and had been for two hours. She was immediately very kind and pleaded us to come and stay with her. We went with her she insisted on paying the taxi fare. Later she provided us with free dinner and breakfast the next day by way of apology. We tried to pay her when we were leaving but she wouldn't accept it. This is a great hostel and even though you would normally pay it is very inexpensive. The area is through security gate and main road so you feel safe. It is very close to the airport and the bus into the town is very cheap. Highly recommended!!

Liked: The owners bend over backwards to help you and your travel plans. They are actively engaged in their community and invite you to take part in it. I was invited to go along to meet the owners students at one of her lectures. They participate in AIDS awareness campaigns for young adults. If you feel travelling is all about really getting to know a country, its culture and its people then you couldn't find a better place to go in Surabaya and perhaps in the whole of Indonesia.
