Liked: Beautiful rooms, really large and comfortable

Disliked: The location, was in the middle of Kemang which is an expensive area. If you are a backpacker I would avoid the area if you are on a budget

Liked: It was really really nice place. They are really nice and they helped us allot, because, they lost our luggage on airport, so the stuff is very helpful.

Disliked: They were very nine. Nothing negative.

Disliked: Only Rico can speak English and he is not always around.

Liked: Kemang area is cool at night, just didn't like Jakarta..at all. Stay here to sleep off your jetlag And leave asap

Liked: The house has everything you need: computer and internet access, purified drinking water, the occasional Jakarta Post (english newspaper), communal fridge, sitting area with television, tv & air con in rooms etc.

Disliked: People from the street decided to put a monkey on a chain music show in front of the house. The moment we stepped outside the gate, they ran up to us and flung a tips container in our face. We were not interested in watching this cruel act, and did not appreciate feeling unsafe and uncomfortable, like we did. We communicated with the person "running" the B&B through phone conversation. On both days we were there, he called up apologizing that he was sick and not able to come in, so not quite sure what connection he had with the family. The rest of the family did not speak English, which was fine but we did feel as though we were on our own trying to organise activities. When we spoke to the man, we felt he was dishonest. We wanted to take the train to Bandung a few days later. The man claimed none of the trains were running to Bandung and he could get us bus tickets instead. We had read many reviews that the train is ideal (and it is, very scenic!) and we declined his offer. We went to the train station and had no problems buying a ticket. I really felt he was trying to make money out of us which is frustrating because we had already paid quite a bit of money to stay at the accommodation he was "running"! Im not usually so negative and critical but I really felt he was only interesting in getting more money out of us and not genuinely making sure we had a good time.

Liked: In a nutshell:- clean! this is important as Jakarta is a very polluted and dirty metropolis- safe and friendly, it is like a family guest house- spacious rooms- availibility of facilities: fridge, tea, coffee, drinking water, books- location is not central, it's down South, city center is quite far. on the other hand, the neighbourhood is nice and quiet, but only 5 min walk to a busy street full of food courts and stuff- our guide and host was Sonny who is a great guy, helped us in every way he could, even took us out to the Carita beach for a day

Liked: Staff are very friendly and helpful. Second bathroom was under construction whilst I stayed. so only had access to small shared bathroom downstairs. However once this is finished I imagine it'll be lovely.

Liked: As a tourist, there is no ideal location to stay in Jakarta and there is a dire lack of reasonably priced accommodation. You will need to use taxis to get around from here but they are inexpensive. No private bathroom, which one would expect at this price......but I think this will come eventually. Friendly, quiet, residential location but not too far from the 'action' this is currently as good as it gets!

Liked: I can't answer the question 6 yes or no surely because I didn't take care about advertisement or promotion for HostelBookers. (rather no).The location is quiet and easy to find.I will come back if I need an accomodation in Jakarta.

Liked: Extremely helpful staff, arrived unsure where the best place to visit, eat, drink etc but was given great information and really enjoyed my time a the Bangka Bed and Breakfast and Jakarta, Highly Reccommended

Liked: We had a lovely stay here, it's just away from the hustle and bustle of central Jakarta in a lively suburb called Kemang which has loads of great (and cheap) restaurants. Sonny (the owner ) and his fanily couldn't have been more helpful, Sonny even helped us plan our trip around Indonesia and gave us some really good advice. I'd say this is a great place to stay whether you're just passing through Jakarta or to use as a base for travelling around Java. Plus a great breakfast and the most comfortabel bed we've had after 6 months of travelling...highly highly recommended!!
