Liked: The room was very pleasant and clean. The bathroom was good with hot water. There was a verandah with sofa, chair and table where you could relax, drink tea and look out over the rice fields. Staff were friendly and helpful and lent me their laptop for checking the internet. The breakfasts were also yummy.

Liked: The breathtaking view on lake and rice fields, the kindness and availability of certain staff members, the central location, the facilities offered.

Disliked: The breakfast, some staff members are a bit rude.

Liked: Great to enter into a home stay where beautiful art was being created before your own eyes! An interesting family resides there who were warm, friendly and most accommodating. The location was great and was good value overall.

Disliked: The bamboo structure of the rooms meant you can literally hear your next door neighbour breathing (thin walls alert) - so privacy was a slight issue but not too much of a problem for us (we were out most of the time). The shower was more a luke warm dribble than a rain shower heaven but after a hot day in the sun who needs a hot shower?! - a cold dribble will do!!

Liked: Really good value for money, nice atmosphere, place to meet other travellers, excellent breakfast and staff very helpful. Great location, and Ubud is the place to go in Bali, don't stay in the South!!!

Liked: Amazing ambiance in common spaces. the hostel owner is unbelievably friendly and helpful. He took great care of us. The rooms are very cozy, made of bamboo, the bathroom is modern.

Liked: Very quiet away from the main street down alleyways with a lovely view of one of the few remaining rice paddies in central Ubud. My room for a single included a double bed plus a single, bathroom was fine. No facilities for tea and coffee making so needed to go up the street for everything. Situated in a friendly three generation family compound Jati was a favourite for a lot of women travellers.

Liked: I wouldn´t recommend this hotel at all. If your not at the high seasion in ubud, it is no problem at all to find a room over there. There are many hotels and many of them are much nicer and even cheaper. E.g. Ari house in the Hanoman St. Gang Anila no. 10 or Nyoman Murjana in the Hanoman Str. Padang Tegal Kelod, Gg. Anila No. 7 are just 2 very cute and cheap hotels in ubud!

Liked: Jati homestay is located central in Ubud, with easy access on foot or available driver. The owner and staff are VERY helpful, available, accommendating & courtous; the morning breakfast is delicous with coffee and tea; the rooms are basic, clean with mosquito netting and sceens on windows, private shower/western toilet and also, a porch/patio for lounging and reading; an extra is the on-site art gallery of famous painter, father and elder resident at Jati; we loved our visit, valued transportation from airport and other accomdations in Bali and added day-tour by private car and driver; will hope to return to Bali and stay at Jati in future.

Liked: I loved my big, cosy and clean double bed room under the roof with its huge balcony! The character was on point with all the bamboo furniture balinese style! The bed was very comfortable and I loved sleeping in it. I felt safe all the time and being a female travelling by myself that was my number one priority. The staff was very helpful. I originally spent 2 nights but I loved it so much that I went back there for another 2 nights! They were fully booked but still accomodated me for a very small fee. That's says it all. I recommend this homely place to everyone.

Liked: We arrived very late at night so we were thankful that they had arranged pickup for us. Our stay there was pleasant. You can pay and use their taxi service to get around for a good rate. It is approx 25min walk from Ubud Palace and another 20min walk to Monkey Forest. Other attractions can only be reached by driving there. THey provide free breakfast, which was always somethign different and very nice on each occassion. The view from the balcony is beautiful. There are many places to eat nearby and lots of places to shop. The staff were helpful with trying to make the most of our holiday although I did feel at times one of the staff members only wanted us to go to places so we would use his taxi service. Nonetheless we enjoyed Ubud- make sure you remember to bring your own toilet tissue because there was none in our room!

Liked: We checked out as soon as we found somewhere else we didn't stay the first night. We felt uncomfortable with the receptionist hard selling tours at check-in. The room was dimly lit, had holes in the roof so the bed got wet, no safety deposit box, no 24hr security, the room needed a good sweep out (not just where you could see) the bathroom was dirty and hadn't been cleaned satisfactorily since the last person. There was no curtain in the bathroom and thus you could be seen showering.On a positive the bedding was clean and fresh and when we checked out the person was helpful and polite. Alhough only £10 we have had far superior accomodation for the same price and expect a clean room at any price.

Liked: Jati homestay is in the centre of Ubud, and yet it doesnt feel like it because the property is about a 100 metre walk from the main street. The rooms overlook paddy fields and so does the restaurant. Very quiet place. Great to just sit around and have some interesting conversations.Cleanliness was good. The Caretaker will try to sell you cycling/ river rafting tours on offer, which are reasonably priced, so that's helpful.Don't depend on the restaurant to serve you any fancy food. The kitchen is only equipped to serve you Breakfast and Coffee.
