Liked: Nice garden. Close by the sea but you cant svim in the ocean there beacuse its to dirty. So you need to walk a bit further.

Disliked: We had sme flying cockroaches in our room. Might be in hole candidasa not just this hotel. But otherwise the rooms were good. No door to the toilet, so dont be too private. Canidasa it quite boring otherwise, just a main street and the beach it very small. It wouldent go there again.

Liked: This was an amazing place to stay. Especially compared to the price. Even though there is no beach connected to the resort there are chairs and tables down by the seaside, where you can sit and look out over the ocean as it comes in towards the shores of Candidasa. This is incredibly therapeutic. You can also get your food and drinks served down by these tables. Something I would definitely recommend. If you are looking to swim there is a small stretch of beach just 100 metres away. Shirley, the owner of the resort, is great.

Disliked: If you have to mention something that doesn't work to perfection it's the food. It is in no way bad, but you can get it as good for less money outside of the resort. Another things that works against this place is the fact that it is in Candidasa. Candidasa is fine if you are willing to pay for transportation (or risk your life on a scooter) otherwise it is fairly small and VERY noisy because of heavy truck-traffic through the town. Luckily you can't hear this from the resorts (at least those located down to the beach).

Liked: Cottages are nice. Big bed. Big bathroom.

Disliked: Location it is really bad. Well location is in central Candidasa, this is actualy great. But nothing is going on in Candidasa. Not much to do. I would recomend Candidasa only to couples or people who like peace.

Liked: Very affordable for someone who has a tight budget yet the facility and service is of good quality. This is a really good place for someone who would visit Bali for retreat, rest and recreation. It is a tranquil place since it is far from the capital (1.5 hours by taxi).

Liked: absolutely fantastic! was impressed when i got there, and since seeing the level that all the other indonesian hotels are at, this one takes all the awards and ribbons. close to a lot of really cheap streeet stalls (the terang bulan stall across the road is a total winner) and as long as you don't eat at all the overprices restaurants in the area you will get away with a student budget.

Disliked: not a single thing.

Liked: The sea view, modern and bright compared to other accommodations in candidasa. It was easy to explore east bali. Last minute tours were arranged if needed.

Disliked: Staff spoke poor English. Common response we got from staff members were 'unsure' 'don't know'. There was also couple of rude staff members. Food was poor. I was given an expired orange juice. After we made a complain the staff member just said all bottled orange juice tastes the same without even tasting it. After a few hours they just gave me a new orange juice without apologising. Overall the staff members were not very approachable..and they just often giggled and laughed most of the time to each other. Only the owner who we only had a chance to speak to her once was interested in listening to us when I lost my sunnies. No internet in the room was also uncomfortable as we had to sit in restaurant area to upload some of our pics, but then the staff will come and ask if we wanted to order any food. The staff who was our driver and tour guide for 2 days from the hotel also spoke poor English and was not very familiar with directions and had very little knowledge but kept pressuring us with time saying that his boss will charge us for over time despite the number of personal stops he made to buy water to buy gas and the number of times he got lost. He also refused to give my partner the room key after the tour saying, that payment must be made before although we were staying at the hotel for another 2 days so my partner had to carry all the bags and look for me at the shop across the road since I was carrying his wallet to make the payment so we could leave our bags in the room, which was ridiculous. In the end we called our driver/guide that we used for the last 3 yrs all the way from central bali.

Liked: the place is much better in real than on pictures, very claen, standart much higher than in many hotels around, the most important: the owner-Shirley. You can trust her in every question and she really helps ( especially when you got in big troubles).

Liked: Candidasa is a beautiful spot up the east coast, and temple cafe is amazing value for money. The staff are all really friendly, rooms are big and very clean, beautiful views and great food places near by.

Liked: Beautiful location-our cottage was right on the front! Staff were fantastic and created a true Balinese experience!! Nothing was ever to much trouble.

Disliked: Never ate in the restaurant as was right on main road but other restaurants nearby were set back.

Liked: I enjoyed the time to sit in the beach side to have wind breathe and wave sound.

Disliked: It;s too far form the airport, and the road to there is not good. Be careful, Balinese drivers are forward.

Liked: It is a wonderfull place, I loved it there. I have decided to come back again to enjoy the clean, friendly, well located and relaxing place. Service was top! I only think the pictures at the homepage does not serve the place justice. It is fantastic and the price is unbelievable.

Liked: The property is really well laid out and has a lovely view to the sea and to the mountains behind. Great setting. It's very quiet and not really condusive to meeting other people. I would recommend it to people who need to get away from it all and if you're travelling with someone. That being said, it was easy to get around from Candidasa, the Bemo's come through town often.

Disliked: Getting there from Denpasar was a challenge late in the evening. It's either an expensive taxi ride or you wait until morning to catch a bus and bemo. And the beachfront is a little disappointing, but there are sandy beaches nearby to go to.

Liked: This hostel was perfect for the kind of get-a-way that I wanted for my vacation. It was quiet, right on the beach, and the private cottages were quite nice.

Disliked: It is rather far from the airport, even though they say it's about an hour and a half, it's really two hours. The beach is a rocky beach, so you cannot lay on it. But there is a white sand beach in the next town over that you can catch a very cheap taxi to.

Liked: Very lovely people and bungalows plus peaceful and gorgeous surroundings. Food is marvellous and reasonably priced.

Disliked: The road is v noisy but by th time you get to th relaxing area by th (stony) sea it's no longer noticeable.

Liked: My girlfriend and me stayed at Temple Cafe a week in jan. 2010. We booth found it too be great value for our money. It is very well kept and has an English management, so it has kind of European standard and very fast and good service. Location is great, 50 meters from the beach with a beatiful garden and sunbeds for free. If you want to relax in quite beatiful suroundings this is the place!! It you want to party look elsewhere! The only thing you hear are the waves. There are some nice restaurants 3 minutes walking distance. The beach is black lavastone BUT 100 meters to the left, there is a yellow sandy beach behind a pier. Or rent a scooter for 5 euro/day or taxi to White Sand Beach 7 km from Temple Cafe. A really beatiful yellow sand beach, the best on Bali according to some people I asked. We arrived to the Temple Cafe from the noisy and dirty Kuta Beach and it was wonderful to arrive to this quite, beatiful place. Anders Victorsson, Stockholm, Sweden
