Monu Family Paying Guest House

Monu family offers you a cheap, clean, cosy, friendly-family stay in Varanasi .
Our rooms are with attach bathroom, western loo, hot and cold shower, free wi-fi access in room and of course back up power supply when power are off in the city.

It has family home stay atmosphere. Price range more like hostel. Restructured and decorated from top to bottom in 2008, with western loos and h/c showers.
Rooms are available with attached bathroom, hot and cold shower & western loo with free wireless (Wi-fi) Internet Connection 24 hours.

With back-up electricity, inverter, the fans do not go off in the middle of the night

It is run by C. Madhav Rao (Madho), his wife Smt. Indra Rao (Indu) and son Shwetank Rao (Monu).

Monu, a fluent English speaker, is a tabla player. He offers music lessons for Sitar, Tabla, Flute, Vocal, Dance and all other Indian Classical Music.

Teaching is our family tradition.

If you are thinking of a budget place to stay for a week or more, you will definitely like the character of the house and you will be comfortable to stay here so close to the centre of everything.

Guests will be charged for the number of nights originally booked. If your train or flight is late, in that case, please call us. For station or airport pickup, please organize it with the hostel at least 48 hours before your arrival, otherwise we cannot guarantee the arrangement of the pickup for you.

Accommodation Information

We have 2 single rooms with shared bath and traditional (Indian) loo. 2 double rooms each with attached shower and western loo, 1 premium room with attached shower and western loo.

All together there are 8 beds and 3 comfortable floor sofas.

Hot and cold shower, back up electricity, water coolers in the summer, blankets, towels, bed sheet and other articles in the room are all included in price.

Location Information

Monu Guest House is located very near to the famous Golden Temple and the main ghats.
Now your target is the famous Golden Temple street called the Vishwanath Gali or the Tripura Bhairavi Gali "Lane" they both will bring you at our place.

Our street is called "Kalika Gali". We are up an alleyway so it's not that easy to find us, but once you get to the city center near the famous Ghat called Dashashwamedh Ghat (main ghat) you can easily find your way. We are 5 or 6 minutes slightly uphill until you find the Golden Temple.
If you would like us to meet you at the train station, no charge, only transport cost.
