Set amongst the backdrop of tropical palm trees and snuggled ideally in the secluded neighborhood of New Tungarli Village, Samrat Cottage offers the perfect Home away from Home for the Budget Traveler seeking good clean affordable accommodation. We are situated just 5 minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Lonavala, , and only 5 minutes from Khandala;

“The Samrat Cottage ” offers an exciting variety of accommodations for you to choose from:

• Hostel beds are priced to suit the backpackers budget;
• Air conditioned Rooms with attached bath cater for the culture conscious traveler on a budget.

CHECK IN time is 1pm in the afternoon. Check OUT time is at 11am in the morning. If you want us to arrange for your airport transfer, then be sure to provide us with the correct day and date of arrival, your airline and flight number. Our transfer service is Rs.1200 for 2 people, it is Rs.1500 four up to 4 persons.

Samrat Bungalow overlooks the hills and valley and is located at 7 & 8, Samrat Cottage, Sunay Gardens, Opposite Hotel Span (Now called Hotel Sarovar Portico), 1 Km from back gate of Fariyas hotel, next to Mehar Estate, near Biji's hotel, Near Bajaj Holiday Home, Frichley Hill Road, New Tungarli at the hill resort Town of Lonavala.

Lonavala has been blessed with valleys, hills, Milky Water Falls, Lush Greenery and pleasant cool winds.
This region full of natural beauty is a feast to the sore eyes.
Being at a considerable height from sea level, it enjoys a cool climate.

Samrat Cottage has a lush beautiful garden with Swimming Pool (Pool is non functional presently).

The cottage is equipped with a Power- Inverter- back up batteries during load shedding. The power Inverter takes care of the fans and lights for 6 to 7 hours.

The baths have modern fittings, shower sprays and hot & cold water with hot water electric geysers (Please switch on the Tap before switching on the power and to switch off, please switch off power before switching off the Tap).

The WCs have western toilets with jet sprays (bidet).

Pillows, Linen & Blankets are provided. Towels and soaps are also provided on request.

You may cook your own meals (please pay the caretaker for usage of gas).

Remember, this is not a Hotel. It’s a Cottage experience!

The caretaker / his wife can provide tea/coffee to you.
Please pay him accordingly.

Our caretaker can also get you vegetarian take away meals from Girivihar Dining which is near by. He can get you bread/butter/milk/jam/chikki/tea/coffee/mineral water, etc from the market.

For meals you can try Sunny Da Dhaba that is 10kms from Lonavala on old Lonavala- Pune highway road. We recommend it for Non-Veg food as we enjoyed it. There is also Rama Krishna restaurant and Kailash Parbhat and of course the one and only Sher-e-Punjab at Vulvan.

Site Seeing: Lonavala is a hill station with several valley view points.

At Lonavala the Valvan and Bushy dams are worth visiting. When you drive a little further towards Pune from Lonavala, you reach Karla, where the famous Karla, Bhaja and Bedsa Caves are situated.

Situated atop Western Ghats (Mountain range) on Mumbai-Pune highway are the twin Hill resorts of Khandala and Lonavala. During monsoon the beauty of Khandala is enhanced when the clouds envelope them and several gushing waterfalls can be seen from the lush green hills.
In fact this is exactly the reason that must have inspired the makers of the movie 'GHULAM' to include a song 'AATI KYA KHANDALA' in their movie which has created huge waves throughout India.

Note: If you are booking only one room in the cottage, please remember you may be sharing the cottage with someone else too and hence may we suggest that if you have company next door not to make a racquet / noise or disturb the peaceful environment or the neighbors.

The Check in - Check Out time is 12 noon.
If you're reaching early morning please request Manoj - Caretaker to allow early check in as there may be guests from the previous night who've yet to check out.

Similarly make a request for a late check out if there is no check-in on that day.

All Cancellations will be invoiced 10% only besides the 10% already paid to the online website at time of payment.
Cancellations made less then 48 hours prior to check in will be invoiced 20 % of the total amount.
Cancellations made less then 24 hours prior to check in will be invoiced 50 % of First Night Room Tariff
Late Cancellation made on same day will be invoiced 100% of First Night Room Tariff only.
No shows will be invoiced First Night Room Tariff

We had a wonderful time staying at your cottage. The facilities were excellent and the bungalow was well maintained.

At the outset, we would like to express our sincere thanks to your Care-Takers, Mrs. and Mr. Manoj.
They were too good to us and had made us feel absolutely at home. We really enjoyed the food cooked by them.
Both of them were very very helpful to us by all means.

We would certainly suggest your cottage to everyone who has plans to spend a holiday at Lonavala.

"Have you ever wanted to do a weekend out with lots of friends and didn't know where to go? Well, we almost know where to go as in the town, city etc but we always get stuck at where to stay...especially when you do not belong to the families of Ambanis or Mittals... 14 of us going for an overnighter to Lonavala- now that would be expensive.

Most hotels charge you around 1500 bucks for 1 room. And the room may not be good. Which would mean 21000 bucks and that too with a strict check in and check out time...Naaahh not happening dude...So we looked and looked and looked... fortunately for the internet we found some good options. We experimented with one of them. This little bungalow (not really little but sweet enough for us to stay) called Samrat Bungalow. It took us around 2 hours to reach the bungalow. Actually 3 hours from Bombay. Cuz my friends just cant make it on time ever. We left Bombay at 10.30 am and through the city traffic we drove out to the little town of Lonavla. I was just wondering what kind of a place this is going to be because none of us had been there before...I was a little nervous. As we took the left towards Fariyas Hotel I hoped that this was not a bad choice. We took the road behind Fariyas. This area is known as Frichley Hill. Sounds exotic na? We drove past some very beautiful private bungalows and i kept hoping one of those would be Samrat. Well none of them were. We finally found it.

Its a bungalow...more like a row house which is a pat of a small complex of row houses called Sunay Gardens. We entered and to our surprise we had access to a big hall, a kitchen, and four bed rooms upstairs. There were little lawns behind the house which connected to a common lawn and a swimming pool.

There is a caretaker Manoj and his wife Esha who were bossed around by my friends to keep cleaning up the mess we created. You can bring your own food or visit the hotels nearby or ask Manoj and Esha to cook for you. The best thing about this place is you have no restrictions. You can do what you like, play loud music and sing out loud. It didn’t matter. No one said anything. We tore apart the watchman's chair with our Air Gun, we rolled on the lawns early in the morning and we played dog and the bone at 5.30 am screaming, shouting and fighting. Not to forget the 5 bottles of Vodka, 2 bottles of Whiskey, 24 Breezers, 12 Beers, 24 Red Bulls and half a bottle of wine we downed.

We rocked the weekend. And we could do that only because of the place we found...Samrat Bungalow. 14 people, 30 hours, high decibel sound and loads of fun at dirt cheap....that's a steal!
