About Canaanvalley Homestay

We would like to welcome you to our house...which is situated in a spice garden, 8 kms away from the town Kumily. Nature has shown all its beauty upon it. The fresh spicy aroma of cardamom, coffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, pepper... embraces you to an unforgettable holiday. The serene morning shows the day with the cool air of the Western Ghats. The homestay is sheltered from the traffic by tall trees that hide different kinds of edible fruits and wonderful flowers. Step outside the house and find yourself amongst the pepper-pluckers that are drying the peppers. Take a stroll through the plantation and discover how cardamom grows, how vanilla is pollinated, what coffee looks like and see the different kinds of herbs and spices that are growing here.

Experience the Kerala cuisine cooked by the hostess herself, who also conducts cooking classes. Taste the soft kallappam, velleyappam, iddiyappam, puttu ada etc. made of fermentation that brings out the best from the cereals, rice and dal.

Get in touch with the local people, as close to nature as possible and find out why we claim Kerala as Gods own country. Enjoy the real Spice Tour at the Kakkuzhi Spice Plantation and finally take home garden fresh spices at our plantation sales outlet.
