Liked: The decor and atmosphere. A very tranquil and lovely space. Although it was quite a long way from the city centre, the metro was very close and convenient (and much quicker than a car in the hectic Kolkata traffic). Staff were helpful and pleasant. The one evening meal I had was delicious.

Disliked: Whilst not really a dislike, I had booked for 4 nights but when I arrived found that the room had been double booked for the first of those nights. The owner paid for another hotel, drove me there and picked me up the next day. Whilst I understand that these things sometimes happen, it was a little disruptive. Breakfast (service and quality) was a little inconsistent.

Liked: It has lots of original features and nice atmosphere. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Liked: The Decor character of the Guest House. Good value for money. Close to metro. The rooms were full of characters, was really impressive. The feeling of warm and coziness which rarely found today, was good.

Disliked: Professionalism was missing. Seems like someone really took a lot of time and effort in building up the place and then left the two little guys to run the Guest House, who doesn't always understand English which may be a drawback of the Guest house. The king size bed with two single mattress, which runs apart from each other, the bed cover or sheet which doesn't cover the whole bed.

Liked: Nice and clean room.

Disliked: It was hard to communicate with the staff (vary bad english) and they are not so helpful, when you ask an information they don't know anything (except for the paper they give you when you arrive). You have to pay a lot (1/10 of the cost of the room, that is very expensive) to leave your baggage, breakfast is included but if you want all of your breakfast you have to ask to the staff many times. NEVER take the car with driver (he doesn't know ANY TOURISTIC PLACE, you'll lose a lot of time to ask information around and in the traffic, and it's happened that he disappeared for 30 minutes... better by foot and underground!). Quite near to the underground but very far from the citycentre.

Liked: Beautifully decorated and clean. Very helpful staff. Easy to get to the Metro station in order to get to the parts of the city for sights and attractions

Disliked: Evening restaurant was R350 which we didn't go for, so we had to catch the metro to get to an area with restaurants

Liked: Amazing hotel - probably the best I ve stayed in India. A real museum of Indian art. Large and confort a/c rooms , free wi-fi internet , a nice garden. Hotel manager is really very helpful and nice. Strongly recommended.

Liked: The food served was excellent, some of the best food we had in India.

Disliked: Bottled water was not provided in the room. You had to keep asking for it. We paid for it when we paid the bill but the staff thought we didn't---I think they gave it to us for the tea which we had already paid for but decided not to have, and thus it didn't show up on the bill. Anyway, it was an unpleasant hassle after we were in the cab, and trying to get off to the airport.

Liked: small professionally run bijou guest house conveniently situated 5 mins walk from clean effoicient S.Kolkotta metro station.Individually themed Indian bedrooms with high quality fitiings and artwork leading onto a small tranquil tree shaded patio/garden .Keen helpful staff,impregnable security, tasty home cooking guarantee a relaxed and different experience.Unequivocally recommended!!

Liked: The room was really nice, not what I expected from a hotel room in India. Very well decorated and felt good. Quiet location. Staff keen to help.

Disliked: There was a mix up over the location. I think the map was wrong on hostel bookers. The location is south of the city centre, not far from the metro so its fairly convenient, but takes a while to get to the train station by taxi.

Liked: Overall this was hands down the best place I stayed in India. Off the beaten path, it's quiet at night, the food is delightful, and it's one of the most comfortable places I've stayed in all of my travels. The rates are a little high for a single stay but if you're a couple, they value is definitely there.This place was difficult for taxi drivers to find. I recommend having them drop you off at the metro station and taking the metro south and get off on the Rabindra Sarobar stop. There's only one exit here and take a left as you come out. Take an immediate left and walk North about 3 blocks and you will find the Bodhi on your right. The metro is undoubtedly the quickest and cheapest means of travel from this location. Don't miss out on dinner at this place. It has a quaint patio area and the staff is very friendly. Liked: Very nice guesthouse, which is located a bit out of the city, but therefore you have a much more peaceful place than in many other locations we've been in India. Very friendly staff and good breakfast.

Liked: enjoyable stay, only negative point was manager, i.e. over polite, if you can count that as being negative. wanting to know did i need a taxi to airport the following morning even though i was only 5 mins in the door. Also looking to see if I needed breakfast or dinner, hadn't even checked in properly!!! His intentions were good however I felt he was just pushing me to spend more money in the place.

Liked: It was very hard to find but once we found it it was an extremely pleasant experience. The rooms are just great, the service is personal and very friendly. The hotel is clean and the food is good.It felt like we were staying with a family rather than in a hotel.

Liked: Clean and good design. Such good guest house, I felt.Personally bad points are poor hot shower pressure, nothing to do near this guest house, and bottled water was not free that in my room.I guessed the bottled water is welcome drink, because so not cheap price in India.
