The tiny picturesque coastal hamlet of Puthenthope, about 32 kilometres from Kovalam, has one of the most magnificent and secluded stretches of beach in Kerala.

In this serene setting of blue ocean, gentle breezes and lush coconut groves is the Palmleaves Beach Resort, an ideal, quiet location for a relaxing holiday, to revel in swimming, beach volley and sunbathing.

Set in a beautiful garden, Palmleaves offers ten double rooms (both A/C and non-A/C) set on two floors. Interestingly, the architecture of the resort is such that it allows the guest rooms on the top floor spectacular ocean views from their private balconies. The rooms ensure privacy and are comfortably and tastefully furnished with television, round-the-clock-room service, and attached baths with hot and cold water facility.


The multicuisine restaurant on the open balcony in front serves Kerala, North Indian, Chinese, and Continental delicacies. Breakfast is complimentary at Golden Sand Kerala.
The resort arranges Ayurvedic therapy and rejuvenation at a nearby hospital. The adventurous can go on guide-accompanied sightseeing trips, night fishing, sea cruises as well as lake cruises in country boats in the Kattinamkulam Lake which is a haven of migratory birds, houseboat trips on the backwaters, adventure trekking, wildlife travel to nearby places and much more. Picnic spots in the vicinity include Ponmudi hill station, Varkala, Kovalam and Shankhumugham Beaches, Veli Tourist Village and the Parvathy Puthanar, an upcoming river project of Kerala Waterway.
