Liked: Individual character of the rooms. Completely different to any other rooms we've seen before. Location a littlebit away from the noisiest part of town. Very hot water and very clean and cosy rooms! Roof top restaurant offers fabulous views to the fort and the food is good. WiFi also works great.

Liked: All rooms were individual and nicely decorated. The family were friendly and helpful. Location was good. Great view from rooftop restaurant.

Disliked: No TV in room. Food wasn't great quality in restaurant.

Liked: The two rooms were individualistic in their layout and decoration - very good.

Disliked: Food options were limited and breakfast on the roof-top terrace in the rain under an awning was not fun.

Liked: the hot shower!! first time i've had a truly hot shower in india. the room was really cute and actually had a double mattress with double blankets (another first for india) really really clean :) value for money. got the cheapest room but it was better than half the places we've stayed at so far food was good too oh and view of the fort from the roof top restaurant. fabulous!

Disliked: they didn't receive our hostelbookers booking and were booked out even tho on the website it said all the rooms were available. turned our ok though because they gave us the room and turned another couple out who wanted to extend their stay... yeah so make sure you get confirmation from them before you think you have a room. annnd book in advance in peak season cos they're really busy

Liked: Shahi guest house is a family run, friendly guesthouse. It is set in the heart of the old city in a 350 yr old historic building. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and had fort views and a litte balcony for only a little more money - definately worth it. Great fort views from the rooftop restaurant as well, tallest place around!

Disliked: Not a place to stay if you're uncomfortable with stairs. There are lots.

Liked: In a wonderful location, very central and the building is stunning. Lovely decorated rooms with lots of character and very helpful start. Good roof top restaurant as well with stunning view over the city and the fort.

Disliked: Hot water wasnt available 24 hours a day, but if you asked for it they would turn it on but it took an hour for this to work.

Liked: Beautiful rooms in a nice building right inside the blue city. Magnificient view from the honeymoon suite (worth its price). Helpful staff, good location.

Liked: Our hosts were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and our room was large and well appointed. The food was very good and the location just under the Fort with a fantastic view of the Blue City, wonderful!

Liked: We stayed in the Queen room and it was fantastic. The food was some of the best we ate in India - they have a young woman who comes in to cook. Iit was a set menu but all you could eat and very inexpensive.

Liked: Heaps of character, my room was lovely with an excellent view of the fort. The owners were very friendly and arranged for my pick up from the train station at 4am in the morning when my train was very late into Jodphur.

Liked: The guest house, which was formerly the residence of a Maharajah, has a unique charm and plenty of character despite being set in a busy location in the back alleys of Jodhpur's Katla Bazaar. The rooms are very spacious and tastefully decorated. The owner, Mr Bantu, was very welcoming and friendly and would go out of his way to help us. The view of Mehrangarh Fort from the rooftop is unrivalled. I would highly recommend the guest house to anyone looking for an authentic experience in Jodhpur.
