Peace, tranquility......and a bit of fun in the Thar desert! Fifu desert and camel safaris take you to a non-touristic part of the Thar desert near Khuri. You can enjoy desert scenery from your camel and then relax on the dunes to enjoy the beautiful sunset.

We guarantee to organise your camel safari in an area of the Thar Desert where there is total privacy for those who prefer to stay away from the crowded tourist areas.

Our staff take care of you while you are in the desert. We provide clean, vegetarian meals and mineral water.

We offer safaris to suit everyone. You can choose whether you would like to stay just for the sunset, sunset and dinner or enjoy the night sleeping under the stars.

SUNSET SAFARI A

At approximately 2pm you will leave Jaisalmer by jeep. Firstly, you will visit two historical monuments outside of Jaisalmer city, Bada Bagh and Amar Sagar. You will then travel to Barana, a small village outside of Khuri. Here you will take the camels and ride into the desert until sunset. You will then return by jeep to Jaisalmer.

SUNSET SAFARI B

After spending the afternoon in the desert (see sunset Safari A) you will staying the desert after sunset. Dinner will be prepared and you will relax on the dunes next to a camp fire (weather permitting). You will return by jeep to Jaisalmer arriving at approximately 10:30pm.

OVERNIGHT SAFARI

At approximately 2pm you will leave Jaisalmer by jeep. Firstly, you will visit two historical monuments outside of Jaisalmer city, Bada Bagh and Amar Sagar. You will then travel to Barana, a small village outside of Khuri. Here you will take the camels and ride into the desert until sunset. After sunset, dinner will be prepared and you will relax on the dunes next to a camp fire (weather permitting). You will sleep overnight in the desert either outside on the dunes or in a safari tent. The next morning after breakfast you have the option of going on another camel ride. You will return by jeep to Jaisalmer around 10am.

MONUMENTS TOUR

At approximately 9am you will leave Jaisalmer and drive out of the western side of the city. On this trip you will visit Bada Bagh, the ‘Big Garden’ that house the royal cenotaphs; Lodurva, a series of historic buildings which were part of an ancient city; Amar Sagar Lake with a Jain temple and Khuldara, an abandoned village. The tour allows you to enjoy all of the attractions at your own pace. You will return by jeep to Jaisalmer around 12am.

We can arrange by discussion an off-road safari by jeep to remote villages. Also by the same arrangement we can take birdwatchers in the winter time only for a trip to see local desert birdlife.

INCLUSIONS

The price for the Sunset Safari and Overnight Safar includes:

- Jeep transfers
- Bedding, blankets and sleeping bags (Overnight Safari only)
- Meals – all vegetarian and prepared freshly in the desert
- Breakfast: Toast, jam, peanut butter, boiled eggs, fruit, juice, tea and coffee
(Overnight Safari only)
- Dinner: Two vegetable dishes, dhal, rice, chapatti, Indian sweet, fruit and chai
- Mineral Water
- Camel Ride – one person per camel

The price for the Monuments tour includes:

- Jeep transfers
- Monuments fees
- Mineral water

For all the safaris:

- Drinks can be provided at extra charge
- In the case of unavoidable natural events we will either refund half of the full price or we
will transfer the booking to the next available day
- Accommodation will be either outside on the dunes or in camping tents on the dunes (limited
number of tents available)
- There are NO toilets
- There are NO showers / bathrooms
- There is NO running water
- There are NO shops or restaurants
