Chandertal Lake Retreat

Chandratal Lake , also known as ‘Moon Lake’ is one of the most beautiful & spectacular lakes in the Indian subcontinent.

Set on a large meadow between lower ridge and main Kunzum range , it offers excellent view of Mulkila mountain range and Samudra Tapu Glacier. The color of water keeps changing through out the day from reddish to orange to blue to emerald green as day passes.

What do you say about a place that can take away 6 hours of fatigue and dust in an instant? About a patch of the deepest blue and green in the middle of thousands of miles of browns and grays? A place the makes you want to stay put and not want to see or do anything else? Breathtaking, awe-inspiring, beautiful, fabulous, overwhelming… all sound too short of the apt description. Maybe ‘chandratal-ed’ should be an expression that describes what one feels at the first sight of those blue waters.
